Which is the 3-6-9 issue you are referring to? For which clone movement?

BP Factory version with ETA Asia 2824 is reliable and easily serviceable too.

Thanks.

I mean the cheap ones can't be THAT bad? Is it the movements? have some Chinese Nh34 and Nh35's and they're great. Still bang on time for years.
To anyone who knows anything an NH35 inside a Submariner is an instant tell, wrong beat rate and I presume slow date change.
You could build a 16610 in a perfect reworked to gen spec Raffles case, Italian bracelet, gen dial, hands, crystal, bezel etc. But fit an NH35 and if I was stood next to you at the bar and you had your arm up on the bar I would be able to tell it was fake instantly.

That 6 beats a second instead of 8 is so obvious.

Wow - I never thought of that. Will keep an eye out in future!

Thought I'd try here again.

Have traded emails with a TD for a 39m Explorer I and deciding between BP or CF is my dilemma. He suggests I'll like the look (qlty) of the Clean more. Would appreciate thoughts on these 3 questions:

1. I've read the 3132 mvmt can be iffy. Some say to bring it in for service after rec'd. Not what I'd want to do with a new watch TBH. Thoughts?

2. Ive read the 2824 is pretty rock solid. Any experiences?

3. If most avg Joes can't tell diff between a CF and BP (unless they look very closely or remove case back), I think BP (2824) is my choice.

Any feedback appreciated. I'm set up with Wise to buy and ready to pull trigger tonight.

Thank you!!

A service is recommended when buying any reps to ensure they last longer. Factories inevitably end up with cheaper movements and parts, a service makes sure everything is well lubricated, there’s no screws loose etc

That being said iv never had mine serviced, some are good and will last years, but at the end of the day it’s a rep and if you get a couple of years out of it that’s considered good

Thanks for the reply. I was reading you get it serviced immediately after receiving it. My bad I guess but its why I questioned buying that mvmt if it did need immed service.
I found a thread here from several yrs ago and most say the 2824 is work horse. If the CF really looks much better I'd probably opt for it and get service in 2-3 yrs.

Trusty, are you aware of any issues with the 3-6-9 issue?
Also, I'm looking for 39m Exp I but have read the 3132 can be iffy and so I'm leaning to a BP 2824.
Do you think the (Nickel Plated Asia 2836-2) a good option?

Thank you!

Hi buddy @Linksrat

If you want my most honest opinion, since it is a closed case back Rolex watch, just go with the Asia 2836 nickel plated movement. It is easily serviceable when you need to and also the lifespan on the movement is good and less problems on that. Those Asia clone movements like 3132 Asia Clone are modified with engraved plates and parts so sometimes they do break down a little more. But mostly now, the Asia clones movements have matured to a state that it has been pretty much stable.

Thanks.

I appreciate that Trusty. Any thoughts on the 3-6-9 issue I've read elsewhere here? Accurate or other?
