i bought my swiss 7753 pam188 2 years ago for $500 and had been working fine, no dust under x-tal, date change at 12, water resistant, etc etc. now a HBB w ceramic bezel and asian 7750 costs 100bucks more, BCE w swiss movement costs over 600..

talking abt quality reps of the past, what abt the discontinued avenger seawolf, pam192, royal oak jumbo, iwc ti gst chrono, etc etc? no one will dispute that they are such high quality watches. now, where can we find watches w the materials and quality for that same price those pieces were sold at that time? they are all below $300 and the seawold is a lil more than 200, mind you.

Guys, don't loose perspective !

If you want quality, go and buy the Genuine watch !
For 100-200 bucks be prepared to accept the exceptional rep that looks fantastic and will last several years
and the lemon rep that will end up in the back of your watch drawer (got two of those, both will be moded
to correct visual issues)

In my experience dealers will in most cases bend over backwards to keep us clients happy, give your dealer
a call, but as shit happens, don’t be disappointed if you end up with no results…

oh how I love the "don't question the quality" argument.

super rep quality - update

So I think I may have found part of the problem.

I opened the back of the case to see if the stem was indeed broken (it was) and I was admiring the movement when I noticed something; the pictures of the watch I got before I purchased had a rotor with the words "OFFICINE PANERAI OP III" on it. This one said "OFFICINE PANERAI OP II". One of the stickers had fallen off the movement. I'm not sure if the sticker made its way into the gears and gummed everything up, but it seems like as good a guess as I can make.

I would not recommend keeping stickers on a movement with the delicate nature of an asian chrono.
