A bit of a newbie question: does the new P.9000 clones have bidirectional or unidirectional winding? I know the movements are based the st2555, however, I can't find any info anywhere regarding the self winding mechanism on the st2555. If somebody has a watch with one of these movements, have you experienced the dreaded 7750 wobble and free spinning noisy rotor while using it?

Some clarification is required, as those are three different movements you are talking about: the new P.9000 clone, the ST2555 and the A7750.

Hi mysterio i'm thankful that you want to chime in, my question was perhaps a bit badly formulated so i'll try clarifying it. Regarding the movement in the watch we are discussing in the thread - the P.9000 clone - does this movement feature unidirectional or bidirectional winding? That was the question. Personally for me it would be a deal breaker if it has unidirectional winding like the 7750 because of the level of noise that occurs when the rotor spins freely in the opposite direction. I thought the P.9000 clone was based on the st2555 but I could not find any info regarding the winding mechanism in it. Fortunately pechspils clarified it with his reply. The clone P.9000 movement features unidirectional winding only (just like the 7750) according to pechspils. And I therefore assume the rotor has the loud noise and the characteristic 'wobble' which makes me abstain from getting any watch featuring this movement.

The V2 P9001 is unidirectional winding, so my guess is also that the V2 P9000 also winds unidirectionally. IMHO I believe there is still a big tech barrier the movement maker needs to overcome to remode it into bidirectional winding.

Unidirectional it may be, but noise nor wobble is not a guarantee. I have experience with quite a number of 7750 movement powered reps and I think only one was a bit louder than the rest. For the seagull powered ones, I don't recall getting one with an appreciable rotor noise (probably because that is a standard mass-produced Chinese movement). Maybe in the early days of the 7750 that were true (but I `wasn't around then to confirm) but the 7750 has improved a lot since then. I only have one V2 P9001 rep but it has not been noisy at all. Anyway, noise can mostly be remedied by with good lubrication at least.
