First impressions. Wow. Bear in mind I have owned many gen POS (including 8900 ceramic).

Quality is very good.

Bezel rotation is not as solid as I would like but acceptable.

Crystal clarity is gen spec.

Fit and finish is excellent .... I haven’t unwrapped it but it feels the same quality as the v6f 42mm PO...which has already been talked about extensively.

Overall I prefer the orange dial 42mm non GMT.

The GMT is very thick and 42mm suits my taste better.

I find the black/silver dial to be too dull compared to the orange. At some angles the silver dial accents disappear and that makes the watch look dull and boring to my eyes. Hence the GMT is going to be a catch and release for me.

Will be selling the GMT after I’ve tested it etc and inspected it for a few days

Since you mentioned the thickness, could you please measure it or post a side by side pic with the 42mm? TD sites say 16,5mm, so I wonder whether that's correct. Also maybe a stupid question, but how shiny is the bezel (hard to judge from photos vs real life)? Just a bit more polished than the CrPO or blingy like the LMPO or a sub?

Thanks for the pics and your first impressions. How’s the bracelet, the bezel action (loose or does sound crisp) and lume? Could you tell us the thickness of the watch compared to VSF PO?

I believe the bezel is shiny ceramic unlike the mate PO.

Yep. The GMT bezel is shiny ceramic...very nice.

Bracelet feels very high quality.

Clasp is closes securely.

Bezel rotation doesn’t feel very tight and crisp but it’s the same as my gen Batman. I think GMTs in general don’t have the same positive click as diver bezels...but it doesn’t feel cheap.

Overall the GMT is very well built and looks good but it’s BIG. Big and THICK.

Lume is strong! Very nice.

It feels much thicker than the PO (non GMT). ..I’ll take pictures when I get back from my business trip in a few days but I know straight way that I won’t be keeping the GMT over the 42mm PO.

I don’t know what the Thickness of the GMT is. I don’t have callipers to measure but the case is different to the PO (non GMT)....i would expect the case to be gen spec.

Thanks for the extra shots! Did some measurements in photoshop and it's about 17,5mm - gen spec, but simply too fat. I wish VSF made a fantasy version of the 8500 at 43,5mm and 16mm thickness.

Few more pics to help researchers on the fence before it goes on sale:

I don’t actually mind the thickness. I like thick watches. But why I don’t like is the silver numerals and how they disappear at certain angles, making the dial look plain black. I much prefer the orange accents version. Might get that to compare against the 42mm version to decide which one to keep.

Thanks for the pics mech500 - great photos, looks great quality. My qc pics came in today, initial impressions look good, will likely approve them once I get a look on something other than my phone.

I've ordered the black with orange numerals and am currently wearing my 42mm black/orange v6f PO so I will do a side to side once the gmt arrives.

What is the rep lug width BTW? 21mm as gen?

Currently trying to find a decent rubber strap but aliexpress doesn't seem to have the correct strap in 21mm size - there's a few of the newer variety which I'm not so keen on. May have to go gen on that one.

Has anyone had any bezel insert engraving issues on any of these? My QC pics (which I just rejected) had a small, but noticeable fault on the '4' in '14' on the orange GMT. It had a blob on the inside of the 4 where it appears it has been wrongly drilled and then painted. Has anyone else had anything like this?

Oooh yeah, that looks splendid. I think I'm going to really like this watch. How does it feel, movement, bracelet etc?

There’s one word that does a good job answering all of those questions......Solid!

Runs well, fits well. On the larger side but is comfortable.
As I’ve mentioned in other posts, I’m a fan of the super clone movement.
I look forward to doing a comparison test with the others I have.
The dial and the bezel have an interesting contrasting/matching blue hue.

Solid is a good description of these movements (I have two other VSF superclones). I can't wait to get my hands on this one too! Shame I just turned down my first QC pics really....

Patience, patience...
