They did not put together a movement. Most likely the rep factory found out Hangzhou was producing this caliber and looked for the gen watch to which it would fit the most

Cool insight thanks, you just have to love a micro rotor, very few reps with one.
The only problem is the movement finishing, a larger rotor partially hides it, but with a micro rotor everything has to be nicely made.

While it's not as thin (Bvlgari has many world record for this) it's looks Good and at 9.8mm, it even look more balanced than gen.

Hmmm. I'm very tempted. The gen is ridiculously thin, maybe even too thin?! (if there is such a thing!) I only handled it wasn't able to wear it so not sure how it sits on the wrist.

Honestly I think the rep at slightly under 10mm looks perfectly proportioned, much more than gen. I'm close to pulling the trigger but am still undecided between titanium and rose gold...

Well the rose gold is a definite for me. And then it's a toss between the silver or dark matte grey. I'm literally looking on Instagram at some actual wrist shots but I have no idea how the rep will be in sunlight.

I'm leaning towards the RG and dark matte grey....

I think RG definitely looks more impressive than Titanium, but what's keeping me from it is how easily it could get scratched up

I think it's dark matte / grey for me. It reminds me of the IWC 5020-01 I used to have. The silver / titanium looks too 'shiny' for me (having looked on Trusty and wrist shots on insta).

For my 'shiny' fix I'm probably going to pick up a 15400 with grey dial to cover that base

Misread your post. Yes with the gold I'd wanna be extra careful. To be fair I've owned a lot of RG / YG reps over the years. The only place I noticed wear was on the crown when setting the time (and this was with a JF which are notorious for discolouring).

Nowadays when setting the time on a YG or RG watch I use a lint or soft cloth. It tends to discolour due to sweat and dirt when coupled with the friction of setting the time / date.

Microrotor working, it’s an automatic movement not manual as somebody said in this thread..
Level of finishing is quiet nice, measured with digital caliper it’s somewhere in between 9.85mm-9.90mm.

The problem is the thickness and the small second design. It is an obvious tell that this is a replica.

After giving it some thought, I’m going to order the BVF dark gray version. Don’t really care about the flaws or being called out. I’ll be upfront with people. Just love the way this watch looks. I’ll post some pics when it comes in.
