Can you put up a closeup ? This is my OEM Panerai alligator hide strap
For comparison , it looks different from the Paris one, maybe they use different hide parts.

For some reason I always come back to the brown strap on the black dial. With a black strap it is just too boring, or formal.

I think yours also has the "TEC" standard from premium Louisiana farmed alligator hides , but the OEM Pam one must be further enhanced by deeper artificial embossing !

My attempt at a decent shot of mine with the Sobek croc strap. For $50 the strap is fantastic. It's lacking in comparison to some I've seen on here but for a budget option I think it's a lot nicer than some I've seen.

This might seem like a silly question: But how does one go about getting special AR done on their crystal? Do you ask the TD to do it for you or do you buy from your TD, then ship it to someone who can do a special AR for you.

Thanks. (Still learning) :)

And for sure it's a lot nicer than the shitty rep strap.

That would be awesome if the td's offered that! Unfortunately they don't.

After I get the watch I ship it off to Steve (the Prof) to get it coated.

Whatever you do, just never get the crystal coated on the outside. Will never last long and gets scratched very easily.

I guess it depends on how one cares for their watch. 90% of my watches have the double coat and I have yet to see a single scratch on any of them...

I have 30 plus watches with Taka 2xar mainly pams and Iwc and not one scratch in 8 years. 2xar is quite tough but i do take care not scrape my wacthes against brick walls

You may want to have a closer look at your watches...
You (of course) don't need to scrape it against brick walls to cause scratches. However - and that's just obvious - AR coating is way more delicate than a sapphire crystal. Therefore it is a pretty... not so clever idea to cover something which is supposed to be scratch-proof with something that's not scratch-proof at all. Besides, I'm not telling any news, has already been discussed several times.

I am very particular about my watches and I had a very close look at all of them, not a single scratch.

It's a very clever idea to coat the outside since the watch looks ten times better like that with a very small risk that it will get scratched.

But to each their own.
