What is interesting is a bead blasted matte Titanium finish WILL take a fingerprint that you can see with the naked eye. That is not common on rough metal surfaces.
That is quite amazing. Titanium is wonderful stuff. :D

But am I correct to say we haven't seen a titanium bracelet for a PAM?
If Panerai never made one, no-one would rep a fantasy Ti strap.

Panerai's PAM170 have alternating Ti and steel bracelet.
In fact, a while ago some dealers sell Ti and Steel combo straps for PAM

machinability of ti

comeing from a background of 50 years of engineering in aero space , i like to say that steel is easilly machined , most SS is more difficult and ti is difficult . as we develope more expierience with it it becomes more commonplace. as to bike parts , i have many small ti parts on my bikes but the price of a simple screwed rod [ a front skewer for the wheel , not QR,,basically a looooooong bolt] hovering around 15 to 20 $ reflects the base price of the material + the dificulty of machineing . its not hugely more difficult , but definately NOT trivial . and , of course in aerospace we have cubic bucks $$$$ :)and some alloys of ti are very light for thier strength , hence aerospaces and bikeys love affair with it . my 62 cm road bike , a cannondale w/ alum frame, dripping in ti was well over 3500$ but weighs <18#:)

177H rocks

I love it. Even thought about a gen - tried one on recently, the Ti is understated and elegant. But this looks damn good ...
