Panerai starts the year 2011 with some awesome new watches! I especially love the 372 new "old" fiddy and I really hope that we will se a rep of this in a not too distant future :)

Nu ska jag ta chansen att fråga, när ämnet redan nämnts: Vad fasen betyder Fiddy?
Jag har sett det uttrycket lite överallt men inte begripit mig på vad i helsike det betyder! :)

Sorry, guys... Just an totally Off Topic question! ;)

Fiddy är smeknamnet på klocka nr. 127. En riktig klassiker! Fråga mig inte varför den kallas för det, för jag har ingen aning.

English: he asked about the nickname fiddy and I told him which model is called that. But I don't know where the name comes from. Maybe someone who knows more about PAMs can chime in and tell us some more about the fiddy and it's history?

Panerai are starting to use open casebacks way too often now and that's not very good for us. The rep factories need to step their game up and do something about those in house movements. If they were able to rep an ETA7750 I don't see why not do an inhouse one as well. As long as they get the actually watch, disassemble the movement and start from there. I for one will pay the premium price they're most likely to put if they end up doing it

Wouldn't it be possible to start with just taking the standard 6497 and put some plating on it? Like a cover plate mimicing the look of the new movements. That would be a cheap way of improving the looks and making it more similar to the in house movements. I haven't really compared the old and new movements side by side but from what i can recall I think that it would be a possible short term solution.

The 372 is itself a replica of a very old Pam. DSN has a very good rep of this already. Well it's pretty good. ;)

PAM382. This model is fking good imho.

Bronze me up, baby. Might be one of the few PAMs I'd want the the gen of, but I am sure it's priced way out of reach.

Yeah that one really catches the eye. I think estimated retail is around $10k iirc.

From the brief look I gave it I dont think I like the factories chances of making good reps of any of those.

Likin' the 382 too.....

Loving the green dial against the bronze case.
PAM0038220Detail1big.jpg

This should be a VERY easy REP.
I'm not worried about the movement.. It'll be a long time before that is rep'ed to look anything like the GEN.
JacksonTse already has a nice MM version of the PAM305.
I may have my MM 305 dipped in bronze like my baby shoes.
A green dial maybe a bit tricky at the moment.

Hope they do this one.

well the problem lies both in the specific bronze that this is made out of
and the exhibition caseback showing the p.9000 movement.

so chances are the bronze will look totally off, and also the movement
will be nothing even close to gen. so if it is repped, it's probably not
going to be anything like the real deal.
