Holy... Waiting patiently for it to come out, loooove this green tone. This is way more exciting than these neverending subs and carbo the factories overfed us with for the last periods of time.

I think they were more just following Panerai's lead.
Panerai made a pledge to come up with like 20 new materials over the next 5 or 10 years or something.
It seems like when they develop a new material they tend to do a lot with it. Thus, the rep factories follow suit.
Not to mention, it was the year of the submersible.
This is the year of the Luminor.
With that, while all luminor models they released this year, everything they announced was firbatech, Carbotech, gold tech or two tone (firbatech and Carbotech).
And I'd guess that's probably what the rep factories are going to release mostly this upcoming year. Carbotech and firbatech luminors.
