Just my opinion but the 007 Bond looks like a kids watch with the 007 floating around with the seconds hand. Buy the blue classic SMP. Go ETA.

Kids watch, tacky, call it what you want, but I agree the 007 is a double 00. Stick with the chrono model 8)

I already have the classic SMP and don't need another.

In this order:

1. GMT
2. Chrono
3. FORGET the Bond model with the rifling (looks cheesy)

I really like the new 007. In fact I too am very close to getting one. The only thing holding me back is the accuracy of the dial. I think the gen has less pronounced spirals on all the pics I have seen but that may in reality not be true since a side by side comparison would be virtually impossible. The rep looks like a very well made watch otherwise and the casing and bezel are near perfect (to my eye). I will probably get one soon if I can get past the concern on the spirals :)

I'm waiting for a more accurate rifling spirals as well. I saw the gen and I really like the look. I'll buy one as soon as a better dial comes out (if it does).

I was doing the same thing and then I realised that they will never make another version of this if nobody buys the first version. The factories will jus tthink there is no interest and leave it alone.

The other thing that I was looking at, is how accurate the case is. The He valve is actually in the right place and the CGs are actually cut in a little like the gen. The way I see it, if this turns out to be an ugly looking dud, I can always use the case to make a really good looking SMP.

Does anyone know when we can expect the first batch of the new Seamaster 2006/2007 model. The one with the "seamaster" red lettering.

Hope its soon, or I'll have to go for the new James Bond (spiral dial). I need to get my Bond fix now that Casino Royale is almost upon us (waiting for my PO 45.5 MM with correct lug size to fit the gen strap I got on ebay. I hope I won't have to drill - I know there is the Omega logo size issue, but I won't know if it really bothers me until I see it first hand. I also have the Asian 21J version, so maybe I gan swap dials).

In that sense, of all offerred reps of the new James Bond, only the one from WO Mart has the "almost" correct case-back (007 gun logo), al others it seems they have used the previous Bond 40 anniversary watch and just swaped the dial. However, is it worth the risk?

Finally, anyone know if Ofrei can source the gen dial for the 45.5 MM (I can only find the one for the 42.5MM at their website, and since it has been established that the gen dial fit the reps - at least the 42.5, maybe the 45.5 dial can fit our reps - if so, we could almost have a perfect rep of the PO)

Very good point. I know that some people here seem to really dislike it. To each his own, I suppose. As for it being too "tacky" or "over the top" or childish or whatever... think of James Bond. Big explosions, totally unrealistic action, flashy stunts, and busty women... it's all about fun afterall! Why is it that the watch can't be fun, too?

I think it works for me.

The one thing that I have noticed is that the images on this site and on the dealers sites tend to show things in an unusual light. There have been many times that I have looked at the pictures of a Rolex Sub on this site and then gone to look at my own Sub and realised....the dial print on this thing is really small when it isn't blown up 1 billion times.

I have a feeling that this new 007 SMP will be like that. It will probably look goofy or fugly in pics, but look great in real life.

The new 007 rep is just OK. Nothing outstanding. You'll find better accuracy and overall quality in recent PO rep instead.

Roeod4... post up pics when you get it! I am definitely curious since it's obvious no one else is going to buy this rep. ;)

That Pam (192?) with the Lions head covering the dial is my least favorite rep of all time. Your first photo above is a close 2nd. To each their own but I definitely don't like it but really like #2 and #3.
