Hi, my Name is Roland , i‘m 61 years old , living in germany and since I've been retired for 8 months, I can take up an old hobby again: collecting watches. So far, I own a few originals, such as a Rolex Sub, Omega Submarine, IWC Portofino, Panerai, Breitling, etc. Now I thought, why not try a few replicas, and today I ordered a Rolex from Eu Stock. It should arrive in about three weeks, then I'll give you an update.

So, here's a quick update. Today i’ve ordered a second watch from another retailer. Communication with both retailers via WhatsApp was quick and professional so far. I paid once via Wise and once via PayPal. The two watches should arrive in about two to three weeks. As I mentioned in my first post, I will upload pictures of both watches here. For me, this whole thing is a test run. I set myself a limit and invested around €1,200 for both watches. In the worst case scenario (customs causes problems, or both retailers are scammers, or the quality of the watches is like something you'd get from a flying dealer on vacation in Italy), the money is lost.

I was prepared for that before I even placed the order.

If the above examples do not occur and the watches are really as good as they appear in various YouTube videos, I will of course be delighted.

That's all for now.

Greetings to the community !

If I understand correctly, the first order was from eu stock, one of our trusted dealers. If that is correct I’m confident that you have nothing to fear. If the second wasn’t a trusted dealer you certainly may be just fine, but as I only source reps through rwi I couldn’t attest to it one way or the other.

Excellent! Just in case you haven’t gotten to or dont remember all of the required reading, the td process especially when ordering from china is a long one- it’s very easy for new buyers to get stressed out and think that they have been scammed or are being treated unfairly, but you were very wise in buying from two trusted dealers, and it will work out well for you because of that, congratulations and welcome to the club!! If you haven’t read this yet, it should be very helpful for where you are in the process-

And somebody more informed than me should probably confirm, but if you’re in the eu and bought your first order from eu in stock, it would stand to reason that you’ll be getting a watch much sooner from them than the other order if it’s a dealer based in china. I’m excited for you though!

Thx Michael, i‘ ve read some of the guidelines here in the forum before i‘ve ordered both Watches and yes, the guy from eu-stock told me that he will send the Watch out to me after he receives it from China, so in this case i do not expect Custom-issues. For the second order it was necessary for me to create an Wise-account for the money transfer, but they have confirmed that the money arrived them. So, lets wait…
regards

Ah, well my expert advice was already wrong- I thought that eu in stock only sold already in stock items- the silver lining is that I just accidentally modeled for you what happens when you make assumptions 🤣

That's the whole point of a forum, to share new experiences☺️. I also thought that the name "eu-Stock" meant that he had all the watches in stock, which, when I think about it, is nonsense because the watches are all manufactured in China anyway, so it's only natural that a particular product might have to be sent to him first.

Well yeah, certainly they’ll all come from china, I mistakenly thought he was only selling on hand already imported stock- but it was a silly assumption to make. Dont be like me, you can be a better class of noob! Incidentally, I think this has been the very most helpful link for me personally- it’s long but absolutely golden. And again, welcome to the forum- you’re off to a great start!

You have a refreshingly reasonable approach to this as a newcomer, Roland, off to a very good start.

Looking forward to see your watches on the wrist and to hear what you think about them.

There are always risks with replicas, but both dealers here on RWI are trusted and in good standing.

Welcome aboard.

:)Thanks for nothing,.

My approach to this topic is that of an old white, retired academic who now enjoys plenty of time to revive what is perhaps a rather eccentric hobby. Regardless of this, after my vacation in two weeks, I plan to buy an authentic watch from my local dealer. It will probably be a Breitling Chronomat GMT with a green dial.⏰
