One thing I'm certain is, once things get tricky like sunburst and all, rep factories can never achieve this. i.e. IWC Big prince, Rolex YM Blue Dial, Rolex Hulk Submariner. These are sunburst dial watches that are way off compared with gen, still not as bad but evidently really hard to do.
Back in the day H fac did the 089 with an epic gen like dial of antrachite, either the dial maker is no longer in the game or the rep factories have become greedy enpugh to lure people who can't wait to buy it soon as they post a picture to Chinese forums. Then, version after version...
Patience is the key in this game. Most of the time, the reps release at %30 more of a markup with first batches. As in later batches, not only the craftsmanship usually improves but also prices decrease i.e. KW / V6's Submersible series, SF / ZF's Radiomirs and all that.
