New car thanks to insurance policy

As my Nissan Maxima was burned to a crisp in my recent home fire,The insurance company paid me and I just purchased a Mercedes E 430 V-8 fully loaded, all wheel drive sport edition. One of my coworkers has an auto dealers license, and took me to the Mannheim auto auction. Only dealers can attend, and on Friday they sold 3000 cars, allowing about 25 seconds for each car in 14 lanes of auctioneers. It was quite an experience indeed. I got a fantastic price on the mercedes which looks much like the one below, except it has chrome rims. I pick it up on Monday and will post photos of it later.

Get the extended warranty on electronics, my sister's S450 and my cousin's E350 both suffer similar electronic issues. I am lucky not to go for merc or bimmer, instead Lexus and happy with ES350

Have the front upper spring cup checked closely. They have a tendency on that body style to corrode then start to separate upward and outward from the structure due to the spring force. It's an easy fix, but quite common in that model, even when there are no other signs of corrosion anywhere on the chassis . I have dealt with it in the past and numerous MB forums mention it.

Nice insurance! That merc seems alot more powerful than your nissan, 4.3L.

That model used to be around S$400,000 in 1997 or so.

Very nice car. I am surprised your insurance is responding so fast. In Italy after such an accident, you'd go like "wtf, wasn't there the insurance office here? What are these butchers doing in here?".

Holy Sheeeit! I picked up the car today from Manheim Auto Auctions, and it totally screams on the road. It goes from 0 to 60 in 6 seconds, has all wheel drive, and feels as smooth and solid as any car I have ever driven. This car was 60 plus K new, and what I paid was, amazing. This car is a true silver lining in my tragedy. The other silver lining, is all the kind words from my friends here at RWI. I cannot thank you people enough.
