While I agree with you on a lot of the issues you pointed out, I think we all need to remember the amount of difficulty that goes into creating a rep like this— this isn’t merely swapping a few parts to make the next “version” of a Submariner, this is a first attempt at making something entirely new in the rep world. I had high hopes for this as well, and I too am a bit disappointed that some of the relatively easy fixes were not made. The sticker in particular was an awful move, but overall, I’m pretty impressed with this as a first release.
Making something like this involves a significant amount of unnecessary risk for the maker— what if they simply can’t make it work, or no one is interesting in buying it? The maker could end up losing a lot of money—it would be infinitely easier and probably a better business decision for the factories to stick only to reps that are straightforward, easy to make and upgrade, and that they know will sell well, i.e. the standard Rolexes, Omega Planet Oceans, Royal Oaks, etc. I’m just happy to see an effort like this, and rather than calling the people who made it “Half-assed idiots”, I think we should try be a little more constructive with our comments. Let’s all remember too that this is a $400 rep of a $20,000 watch; expectations should be tempered...
