One of the most noticable flaws for me regarding royal oak reps is that their tapisserie pattern can never quite match the gen. On some rep watches, especially on 15400 and 15500, the difference is quite obvious. I'm wondering if anyone can chime in on how it is like on these 26240s?

Got mine. Really good. Though I fail to see any pieces moving when I’m winding the watch. Which one should move ?

Anyone have both black and silver dials in hand that can share some side by side pics? TIA

Actually none that I am aware of.. it's not a skeleton.
From the exhibition caseback, the crown wheel and rachet wheel should be visible and moving, I believe. Captive wheels too, if visible (like it is on the 4302 / 15500).

Edit-- I'm sorry, that wasn't as helpful. Here's the 4400 and the wheel that moves when winding the movement. Note that it sits below the higher bridge or plate (I'm not good with watch movement part names yet).

This confirms that the latest batch of the ceramics do indeed have the updated rotor. A couple pages back, there was some doubt on this matter.

Correct, specifically asked for final batch. None of the ceramic links chipped while sizing it Marv said.

Got mine. Looks pretty good aside from the crooked 12 o’clock marker I’ll have to ask my watchmaker fix. Rotor pic attached also.

Dial in person is really cool in sunlight, although hard to capture in a photo. Watch is super impressive. The wrist presence/size is definitely another level vs. the Daytonas, subs and Nautilus with thinner profiles. Takes some getting used to.

My rose gold version with white dial arrived yesterday.

IMHO the look is good, I’m just not sure about the correct rose gold color. If it’s not correct, I’ll re-plate the watch.

The feel is a little bit “rattly” because of the bracelet. They better put a plated tungsten bracelet to the watch. Wearing on wrist the feeling is good.

That white dial looks great. Agree on the bracelet, I’m thinking of buying the DIY vacuum pressure setup to get grease into the seams of the bracelet for the silky smoother feel.

Don’t you think bathing the bracelet in baby oil for 1-2 days is enough?

Yeah think the babyoil would work, but rather than reapply frequently, I was intrigued by this longer term solution pioneered by @bechtolb :

I’ve ordered the grease and an ultrasonic cleaner. Need to order and set up the vacuum seal system next.

Will test on a couple of cheaper rep bracelets first, then move up to the AP/PP/Clean Daytona tier if I like the results

Earlier in this massive thread, there is a photo of a gen blue dial. Link here:

Not side by side, but maybe a comparison point.

I never thought that I’ll add a vacuum pump and vacuum chamber to my watchmaker tools. 😅

But I’ll give it a try! Thanks for the link.
