New AP 26240 with 4401 Super Clone movement is coming

Only 1 dealer has images of it and it's PT. Noone else does. No wechat dealers do either. It does say preorder.

Maybe PT has a preferential access to a prerelease batch. The information I have from other dealers is that the factory is only taking preorders for the white dial SS and the ceramic models with a scheduled delivery for the end of the month.

Just like how Puretime broke ZF news on ZF RM055 first, or how CTime breaks news on Clean models and is the person that generates the comparison for gen vs Clean (that almost all TD and non TD uses). Some TD have closer relationship to factories than others.

I will just practice patience. These aren't going away any time soon. They must have invested heavily to make a new movement so they need to recoup that investment. Barring a raid or a freak firestorm these will be here to stay. No point in rushing for a first batch that potentially could have issues.

I think guys should learn to appreciate each rep release instead of picking on details. Nobody seems ever to complain that the price isn’t gen-like at all.

I own the gen ceramic 26240 and I ought to be complaining about how good the rep is, but truth is I’m happy to see the release and I think it’s a good job for the factory who made this possible for the community.

Gen is gen and no matter how close a rep comes, it will never be gen nor have the pedigree, history, craftsmanship and provenance of one BUT if one wants a nice watch to wear, reps like this are more than adequate. They look very nice in real life. What more can one ask for, paying these prices?

I watched a whole review of the ceramic vesion Gen one on youtube.The dealer said it is amazing how AP can make Ceramic looks like steel.it is hard on ceramic to sharpen edges and satin the bracelet.and Boom now China Master never disappointed us.it is crazy how details Aps has finished.i spent more than 1 hr to close up detail pictures from pure time and Chrono 24.i can say 88/100 %.just Wow

100%, I am just happy to have an AP chrono rep that does not look like a whale on the wrist. Not talking about this thread or this sub-forum but people have been getting very entitled/nitpicky when it comes to reps these days. Its crazy but 10-12 years ago the only super reps we had were basic Panerais or non ceramic Sea Dwellers and we were happy as a pigs in shit. The quality and awesomeness that seems to be pumped out monthly by these rep factories are simply astonishing.

Yeah... if I had gen I would be pissed too that a super rep of my watch is reaching the masses lol, but that is kind of why I only keep gens in precious metals and keep my reps stainless.

And what about the remaining 12%? Do you see anything that seems noticeably different from gen?

My plan was to sit on the fence on this model till Legend (no pressure ;-) has given the movement an inspection.

BUT as APS has been on a roll this year, it does make me nervous that they will be heavily targeted in the yearly raids and stock will be tight, so maybe it is worth grabbing one of the early samples.

And remember there is Holiday in China in feb for a month or so, they might hold orders , deliveries , and have a huge backlog after holidays, so end of March until things are back to normal.

INA factory does AMAZING finishing on ceramic APs. They have do blue ones.

Expensive stuff though.

Servicing is the easy part. Finding replacement parts would be my concern. Are the TDs able to provide spare parts if needed? @puretime Unlike Rolex 3135/3235/4130, AP 4401 spare parts are extremely difficult to source.

@puretime can you please provide some info in terms of spare parts availability?
