Is the black dial version a rep of this fantastic 5524T Limited edition titanium version? majwilliams0308
I just received this last night. What a great watch. The flaws are there (Fixed GMT and non-working pushers), but it's still a top notch watch.
Fits like a 40 or 41mm watch, and I put a cheap brown leather eBay strap while waiting for the other GRF strap.
Do you guys think the factory consider to make non-gmt pilot version?
If so they would sell it like a hot cake.
I believe some people want pilot which is not IWC or zenith
chinese rule is something like this: first release the more complicated versions - then the simpler references. If the first model sells well chances are high that there will be more from that factory.
BIONONE isnt that a problem in this case? There are so many flaws on this model, they would probably not sell many. We're most likely not getting the 5522A then.......
I considered pulling the trigger on the 5524G but the non working pushers/gmt hand will annoy me too much. The local/home indicator not working is acceptable same goes for the white visible ring in the centre of the gmt hand.
Did anyone actually buy this one and can share some pics?
The pics from majwilliams0308 above are of tge rep that he purchased, it does look nice
Ah thanks, I had somehow missed them! Yes, it does look really good, I'm seriously considering it
BIONONE Oh man. They make copies of copies haha...
makes sense that they fear the others might rep their rep while they themselves paid for the gen. So the simpler models are higher risk than the complicated one's, which needs buying the gen. The gen 5522A also costs more than the gen 5524g because it was a limited edition.
If they buy and copy a gen, why not re-assemble the gen and sell it again, thus recouping the investment?
Sometimes parts get damaged during material analysis. To get specific information about coatings or paints they have to get underneath the surface of some components.
And after all a CAD Engineer is often not a watchmaker who knows how to handle certain parts when reverse engineering movements or caseparts etc etc.
and just some food for thoughts - i have no confirmed info about this but wondered myself:
ZF bought a gen RM11 in rose gold, right?
... just look on chrono24 what spare parts for RM are available... oh look a RG RM bezel here, a sapphire dial there, also a nice clasp and of course several gen straps from which you cant really tell if they are gen or rep when looking at the latest achievements regarding the straps from ZF
... oh and all those listings come more or less from the same seller haha
again - dont want to start rumors or spread misinformation but that gave me some crazy thoughts and assumptions
