Hi I got my 4500v from mks and swapped with blue dial from ZF by myself! It was my first time exp.

I love this because, unlike usual ZF date I think I almost got Date well centered.

I thougt I would love the white dial better than blue. But the moment I put on my wrist, I got the feeling the watch looks a litttle big for my wrist.

Not only this, I found someting weird with this watch’s first link. The first link was flairing outwards and it is so tight, it won’t move even 1mm.

So I searched for some gen photos for the first link flexibility. It seems like it is rep thing.

So anyway, I have asked before if ZF dial can be swaped to MKS but no one replied. So I decided to take action myself.

First I moved bracelet

Then I removed crown (I looked up youtube video to learn how to do this with miyota move)

Then there was 3 tiny screw in the edge of case that holds the movement. I removed those and I took case out of movement

Changed time until date changes. (It is supposed to be 12 o clock but factory default was 57 minute)

Now removed all three hands using spring bar remover and screw driver at the each side. It was tight especially second hands. I wish I had special tools for these but did not have any.

Now I had to remove dial from the movement. It had tiny tapes in between. Used flat driver to seperate them apart.

So finally the moment of truth has come. With some frastratiom I merged ZF dial into MKS move and it fitted like as if it was born like that.

After that I put the movement in the case and put the crown back in. I was terrified to look at misaligned date, which was almost half hidden behind the window.

So I took the move out again. At that moment I understood the date alignment up/down wards gets effected by crown. If crown was forced upward, date would move up and the other way too.

So this time, I intentionally misaligned the move a little (which would make perfect dial and date alignment) between case hole and movement gap.

This time, I managed to get hold of perfect date alignment. So I finished putting things in

Great job and thanks for the documentation

The stiff first link makes the watch wear even bigger

@majwilliams0308 I know you have had several ZF and MKS 4500v. I am curious about your thoughts regarding stiff first link on MKS which flares out more.

If so, would there be a fix for this? (Would there be any source that I can buy of mod this?)

Thank you in advance

How are the hands on the MKS - they are not great on my ZF so tempted to make a ZF/MKS hybrid if the hands are ok on the MKS (but mostly for the better date wheel alignment)
