good effort on the ultimate 42mm but the 9 and 3 markers are a dead giveaway!

another dead giveaway is the crystal glare coating!

still a nice watch though as most people will not be able to tell.

but the crazy part is that all the waiters at the local chinese dim sum restaurant are all wearing planet oceans!! hmmmm I think it's getting a little out of hand!

LOL soon we're gonna be complaining to our rep dealers that there are too many cheap fakes of our replicas.

And then we'll come across Replica Replica Watch Info and there will be a whole community dedicated to 1:1:1 reps.

How is the 4813 movement version of this?

They are the same.

Trevor listed them a few weeks ago......

I've heard that the 4813 movement is not very durable and that it stops working after 6 months or so

Not true. It's relative to how its assembled. The longevity of your movement depends on how it's assembled not type.

Would you recommend spending an extra $60 on a 2836 movement?
I read on RG that a lot of the 4813 movements on the 42 po have been breaking very easily.
Do you own a 42mm PO?

I would pay the extra $$ for the asian eta. It's a great start for a Franken project. ;)

I've had at least 8 PO's over the years.

What if I don't plan to do any mods and just keep it stock? would the 4813 be a better choice?

I'd go for the Asian copy. That way if the movement gives up you can put a Swiss eta replacement in.

The 2824 and 2836 are almost the same movement. I think the only real difference is that the 2836 is a day/date movement. For a PO, you only have the date window so you you only need a 2824.

Nice watch and review........congrats!

I owned one of the very first v5 PO's last year, and the one difference between gen and rep that stood out for me was the colouring of the hour markers and hands. The gen is just so much whiter, with the rep appearing quite yellow.

I notice that this seems to still be the case with these reps. I suppose a relume could correct the colouring, but it would be nice if the factories could get this right.

I also think the yellowish colour looked more noticeable against the orange bezel which my watch had.

I recently jumped ship from the 45mm to the 42mm and I would never consider going back! I love the size of the 42mm 5th Gen PO! Looks great on the wrist and has a great weight to it!
