New 116613 with wrapped gold - what do you guys think?

Is it just me or does the bezel look like the gold is pvd? That's a step in the right direction. Its a clean looking watch, most certainly better quality than BP's version. Doesn't look like its offered with any other movement but the A3135 decorated crappola unit. Drag.....

I looked at it yesterday and I have the same question as yours.

For starters the insert was always a tell, from the video it looks gold instead of yellow like the older models.

The movement is crappy if they had it with the 2836 I might actually pull the trigger on it. Then source a gen bezel to complete the watch. Or go full rogue and Frankenstein this bad boy. Actually the gen of this watch got me into this rep game. Lol

Purchased it and like it so far. But I will definitely swap the movement to a Swiss eta 2836....
Over all the built quality is good, however the buckle is not that great imo. Will post further pics soon.

It looks pretty nice, but I would also like to see a refined blue dial version. The two tone stainless-gold with blue dial is my favourite look for the Submariner along with the classic all stainless steel black dial version.

It seems that very few actually bought it, because no reviews or official threads have been made for this release.

Although its an important one because there was a big change in the color of the gold. As dealers have told me

'tis a fine watch but 'tain't no wrapped gold bezel pilgrim.
Mainly because that simply isn't possible, you can't have a wrapped gold bezel.
Wrapped gold is a process of placing a layer of gold sheet over a surface (usually stainless steel) and applying heat and pressure to bond the two. This layer is anything up to .25 of a mm thick which is of course far thicker than gold pate. You can not wrap an uneven surface such as a bezel. Even gold filling a bezel such as this is difficult (filling is like very think plate applied via heat rather than electrolysis).

Can you see bare steel on the edges of the mid links? If you can't chances are the bracelet isn't gold wrapped either.

The bezel looks wrapped by something on the photo below. If wrapping gold on a uneven surface is impossible, then it is obviously not a gold. I still doubt they use pure gold on it. It must be something else like copper or brass
