I get paid Friday and I am going to order one of these two. It will be my first rep purchase. I am pretty much 50/50 right now. Here are my thoughts and let me know what you guys think.

1. I have to say the 111 is better looking than the 177 to my eye. I like the polished finish, but its not like the titanium is ugly by any means.

2. The lume on the 177 looks so bad ass! Looks a lot nicer than the 111.

3. Movement in the 111 looks nicer, but nobody's going to see it when I am wearing it.

4. I really like the new "Godzirra" straps Crocodile just put up for sale, particularly the brown, but I don't know if that would look great on the 177's titanium case (if someone has a pic of brown croc on a titanium, would be nice to see)

What do you guys think?

Hi OP.

I was in a similar situation. I really wanted a 111, but because of lume I chose the 177. It's good enough as it is. With the 111 I'd have to get it relumed, or a new dial costing +$100 at least. That $100 can go to a strap like this one from heroic18.com

However, this is a Ti watch. I have a pam220 and a 199 and both of those are steel.

Not on croc, but here are some examples on brown

1. 111 is the classic. 177 a bit more casual.
2. Pams are about lume. If you want 111, consider getting it lumed and off at the modders for a month or so (eg no watch for a month or two)

What polaris said. 111J does not come with Superlume but overall shape of the CG is better than the 177.

i believe from what i read . its from diff factory

Yes different factories. Thats the rumour.

177L- is from the same factory that did the 288K and the V1 Hublots
111J- I don't know their previous models.

Look at the movement on 177L also... It comes with "inferior" dagger regulator.

Seems that the 111J is a better buy.

I think for that price- toro hast stock for $200- the 177 is the better purchase (AR/SUPERLUME)...the movement will keep the time the same way that the one from the 111 :D

I would go with 111j you can have lume and ar done as mods. I dont know if anyone can offer adding the dagger, but I believe both movements still lack the incabloc y cut-out that the gen has.

But the 177l is also very nice and if you dont like having a chunk of heavy steel on your wrist its the choice for you.

well, I'm also with the same doubt's and some 111 are arriving to member's allready and some ordered the 177, for the moment we have a 111 with diferent lume on dial and hands wich will look "cheapie" rep (in my opinion) and in the 177 a lower "beater" 18000bph wich will decrease the power reserve and don't know if anything else because I don't have the knowledge about these lower bit movement.... damn why don't they make a proper PAM?

I should be getting my 177 next week. I'll update with pics once received.

PS: I chose the 177 over the 111 because of the AR and lume where the 111 lume didn't match.

111J all the way. it blows LH out the water!!! LSML is far better than his and so is the rest of the dial. A little sanding on the CG level and it's just as good as LH. That's why he's liquidating stock half price right now. With the 111J's quality, he realized no one is going to spend 1k on his reps any more

+1. Qinetic is right.

On that same note, the 177L blows LH's out of the water as well- dial, case, crystal, AR, etc. is better on the 177L than on LH's, at only about 20% of the price. The only aspect where LH is better is the movement.

Which rep is more accurate out of the box? Each one has its own particular strengths and weaknesses, but overall, in my opinion, it is the 177L but only by a very small margin and that is just subjective. Mostly because the parts you see while wearing the watch (crystal, ar, lume color, etc) are a bit better on the 177L, while the 111J has a better movement for sure, but you don't see that while wearing it. But both are terrific pieces and extremely good values in any event.

You already said you like the 111J so go for the 111J. Me, I prefer the 177L, but it is your watch. Enjoy. Can't go wrong with either!

I ended up going with the 111j and I don't regret it at all. The only thing that bothers me about it is the lume isn't the best, but it isn't terrible either. Everything else is really really good.

You can always get it relumed mate and it will be a beast!

Is the 177 manual wind, and the 111 automatic?
Or are there different movements to get?

Does anyone know if the 177 Lay is selling (the one with the sweet lume) is the correct case size. His website says it's 45mm but the gen is 44mm.
