Same here, when I saw this and zoom in the pics, can see that its a clone. So this movement is pretty useless unless there is a open caseback for a Rolex with this movement.

Lol it's a decorated eta movement... That winding mechanism looked familiar from the first moment :D
Edit: Too late, smoke was faster again...:cry2:

The caseback is closed anyway. Just make the damn movement reliable and I'll be happy.

About to say this! They never made open case backs so no one is ever going to see it. Spend more time making sure movements don't crap out and less on making it look good for the 1% your going to open it

The only thing ETAish I see is the rotor attaching with a screw - unless the gen attaches with a screw...

the pair of gears on the upper right hand side look pretty Rolex to me and the three gears on the bottom bear no resemblance to an eta.
here's a link to a breakdown of the 3255
http://blog.perpetuelle.com/watches/the-new-rolex-caliber-3255-and-the-new-day-date-40/

Okay,
The gears you describe are molten plastic if you look closely. They do the same technique of decorating on Pam's and AP's since a long time...
The movement you see is 90% fake and non functional except for the balance and three winding gears next to the rotor attachment. Below sits a f*ing normal eta (probably clone) movement. If you know the 28XX Eta series well (and I dare to say I do!) you'll immediately spot it.

I'll be the first to admit the auto-wind assembly doesn't look right, and if they are using molded plastic for fake gears and the other three gears peeking out from under the auto-wind bridge are fake, then it is truly just a POS. It's taken China over 20 years to copy the 3135, so it would be quite something if they could copy the 3255 in 6 months, or however long the movement's been out.

I remember reading somewhere stated by Angus , that movement makers are independent and work with the factories but not only for them . this may explain why there is so much development on movement side ( pams , Iwc , ap deco , rolex ecc ) are becoming better and better everyday and matching issues are still there ...
