I wouldn't go as far as saying crap but compared to HF they don't compare. But not much does compare to HF tbh. For someone who doesn't own a HF or not able to spend the money for one, they will fill a void. Mine should be here soon and I'll reserve final judgment once I have them on the wrist.

It's got to start somewhere and maybe if successful it will bring other offerings and investment in higher quality offerings. VSF is focused on new releases but having someone with ties to VSF I'd say puts VVS in good company so expectations should be high deservedly so. Hopefully they will be a factory complimentary to VSF's reputation. I personally hope they are successful and continue to bring out some forgotten pieces.

Seriously though - the bezel is HORRIBLE, date is off, pearl is wrong and the cg looks as sharp as a razor. Probably cut your finger setting the time. This is like taking a step back 15 years to the early DSN days. There is more wrong than right.

The bezel is the only thing glaring imho. Definitely needed to have had more fall off at the edge.

I'd prefer to put these in perspective, there's some strong opinions on this thread.

If you have the HF versions, or want to buy the HF versions, these are far from HF levels of quality. Agreed.
If you're waiting for am oldskool PAM rep to have HF/NWBIG levels of quality, when rep PAM sales are in the dumps.... boy, do I have news for you.
I am in fact amazed that a factory went to the effort of releasing these.
If you dont have the HF, dont want to wait until an unicorn pops up on the FS threads, but still want a Bomba, this is your only option at this point, if you can live with it. Back when the PAM225 rep was released, the dial was way off, and you know how much those go for now.

These have their flaws, I've called out some earlier in the thread: sharp bezel edge, flat numbers on dial, flat Hev, wrong CGs. But this is all you've got now if you want one.

I have both the 87 and the 64, build quality is pretty solid, bezel nice and tight, nothing feels cheap, keeps good time so far. No idea if there'll be a v2, so if you can live with the flaws mentioned in this thread, go for it.

Thank you for your review of these new releases. Your candid opinions of the accuracy and quality should help many to decide on whether they should look past the flaws or continue the quest for HF greatness.

I agree that it is surprising that these have even been developed and released considering the state of the Panerai market. With any luck, they will consider the feedback and work on refining them for a V2.

From what I recall, maybe this is a different VVS, but VVS has never made watches, they used to supply stuff like DJ bezel, 5712 moonphase, custom parts like that, so it's interesting to see them in the rep game.

They seem to be a new brand on the market. Yesterday some new Daytonas and Aquanauts where also presented under the label VVS
