How will you handle the shipping part from China to US? Do they provide shipping guarantee for 17k watch? If not wouldn't be too risky?

If customs will open the package and just ask to pay the tax, no problem, but will they realize it's a replica and want to confiscate it?

Happy to be corrected but if you're insuring for 17k, won't the declarable value have to match this value? In which case there is a hefty customs bill to be paid?

Usually how they deal with this is buying private insurance. Some couriers do offer insurance too.

Hi all. I’ve been corresponding with AMF (a Trusted Dealer) to make me a solid gold watch. I just got their wire instructions. The wire is to be sent to a credit union in New York. I’m based in the US, but not New York. I looked up this credit union online and it has numerous 1-star reviews and all of the reviews mention wire fraud. I know AMF is a TD but this is scary to me. Any advice before I send over 17k USD of my hard earned money?

I would send a $100 wire to confirm you are sending to the correct place. After send the balance.

I agree. When returning don't bring the box or packaging. Wear the watch on your return trip. This is how I bought my Reps and Gens in Hong Kong. Since I am a buyer of many watches this process has worked for me on my many trips to HK and China.

Update: I've decided to not get the AP since the Rolex is more "wearable".
BIG Update (if you're interested): I don't like the risk of buying such an expensive rep to have it consficated at customs. Also, the price went up from 17.4 to 18K. Since the difference between the rep vs the gen is about 50%, I'm seriously considering getting a gen! But now, I can't decide between the gen day-date (presidential) with white roman numeral dial or the gold Daytona with white dial. Thoughts?
