When you say "no good 000's available" you mean for a "decent value" or you include the DSN 000 : http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/new-pam-000-with-new-27647

I mean for 300 bucks you think it's a good 000 honestly ?

I actually mean that there are no good 000s out there. Sometimes they come up in the sales forum but the majority of the 000 dials are crap with the logo in the wrong place, printing is bad, or the numbers wrong. There is one PERFECT dial out there, but was only released for a short while.

On top of that, all 000s have a wrong caseback, OP number of 6617, should read 6618. Also the crownguards are incorrect and need to be switched to a V/LH/Seadbo/Torobravo one. Crowns are iffy, sometimes good, sometimes bad. Also, I've noticed a spate of 000s/005s without AR on their crystal too.

DSNs ones have terrible dials, with an engraved trench around the numerals. Plus his SS crowns are bad, see my 201a review for a visual example why.

Yep, i read it and i get your point... You almost ruined my day ^^

I love the PAM more & more but the Logo's have definitely the little plus who could make me get one... 005 are pretty too but not "simply design" like 000 or 201a.

So let's make profit of your honest opinion: Good 005's this days ?

Edit: when you talk about the perfect dial, it's FishGoDeep's dial that you mentionned in your 201a review ?

The perfect Pre-V dials are from FGD.

For 005s, there's one on sale by Hont that's cheap and good even after upgraded to sapphire crystal. Just a lume and maybe CG change and you're settled.

Thanks unregistered, i'm new in "PAM details", i'm learning with review like yours, or pics of rep/gen side by side. And i noticed that the 005's Hont have thicker number or logo seems to be a little bit more accurate than other like Trevor or DSN 005.

Just the caseback with the "Officine Panerai & numbers" engraved in black ? never see a gen like this but like the CG it will not be the major problems in order to mod it.

Instead of modding the caseback you could find a G series one to match the dial. The dial on that 005 is from the G series not H. Look at the comparison between the gen H series and the gen G series.

Also you should send it for relume to remove that awful green hue on the numbers and markers.

I have not seen the black letters on any of the 005 casebacks from the G,H,I and K series.

Absolutely txcollector, when saying "modding the caseback" i meant switch to a proper one, 005's Hont is a H caseback, DSN's doesn't have the black engraving.. but it's a F serie... Do you guys emailed the dealers or search in the forum's trade to get a specific piece like this ?

And txcollector, you got a nice 005G for sure, and for the relume that will be part of the plan of course, on gen's pics it's like full white lume ?

Speaking of lume: http://forum.replica-watch.info/vb/showthread.php/any-good-lume-maker-in-48786?p=487837#post-487837

The lume is more cream then white.

On the caseback that's the problem: DSN will have F and Hont H. I believe DSN made a few G series casebacks. You may check with him or post a WTB in the trade sections.

I was under the impression that gen 000 and 005, at least for the recent series, their numeral color had gone all white instead of the C3+C1 mixture that we're used to for the sandwich dial models (111/112).

To me they pics I've seen and the few in the wild have been whiter than the sammies.

For the crown, for a cost effective solution, get a Seadbo. From pictures alone*, I prefer his to Toro Bravos. For an expensive but accurate and beautiful solution, get LH's!

You might be right. Do you have any idea how the lume would be?

Visiting the site of marvellous replica's new dealer i found out that he's got 005G caseback : http://www.marvellousreplica.com/admin/uploadimage/other/200908242119003907.jpg

I guess it's all about learning & searching, step by step ^^

Now i just have to have the found & go on an AD near where i live to make sure the 44mn would fit on my tiny wrist :D

Just received the items from Trevor and wanted to post a few pics.
Blue Surf, Pam 005, Free Pen and he found me rubber parts for the chrono on a hublot.
Group Shot.

Now on with the Pam 005.
The dial must be the G series "L Swiss L" however the case back has the H.

The case is polished and the CG is slightly brushed.
Not sure if you can see the color. But the numbers are greenish and not white. Should they have a light green tint?

Not green, ever. They should glow green, but uncharged should be white.

Nice crown, but that CG Pin, please mod it, or change the crown guard altogether ;)

@ Madcatlancelot.
Is the one you get from Trevor have a greenish tint? Mine is not white.
If you look at the Picture above you can see that the logo white and the number 6 is green.

Couldn't agree more. It's a pretty good rep except for the nipple-like CG pin...an issue which can be easily resolved, unless the CG is of a polished finish.

That cannon pin needs to be fixed too. Get the dial relume to fix the green numbers/markers. Replace the CG.
