The only melting watch dial I've ever heard of involved Salvador Dali. :hypno: I have this exact same watch and can attest to it holding up just fine to normal exposure to direct sunlight and even holding it next to a hot light bulb to charge the lume. I'm no photographer but I can see how a super powerful flash at 100% held a couple of inches away could do some damage to coatings on the crystal and dial. Don't those things emit lots on UV light too?

You also got guts doing the repair yourself! I admittedly did not know what i was doing but I only made it halfway through a disassembly once before I learned that I'm not cutout for that kind of work (I screwed up the keyless clutch doohickey by pushing the stem release button in .5 mm too far). Also those little tabs that hold the movement to the case are a PITA to get in there. Every time I tried to put a screw in the damn things would slip.$50 at a watchsmith saved hours of grief and/or me just smashing the whole thing with a hammer. The people who do this type of work and enjoy it are a special breed.

I hope it works out for you.

Since the dial is toast anyways, maybe you can try to refinish it and see if that makes the mark less noticeable. Try a Tamiya lacquer spray. Not sure if you need matte or semi gloss, but my v5po dial looks like it would need matte.

It would cover the markers... I will probably flash it some more, and attemps to use it in a seiko diver mod.

U.K.
Hope you don't use your camera to take pics of your pecker.....

Sounds like you do this yourself (scary) I did wonder why you are an angry person to others, is it because you need a Macro Lens?:jerry:

Never heard f that happening, but I guess it's possible. that's kind of scary, but rule number one when taking any kind of close up or macro picture is not to use the flash. Always always use another light source.
