MY version of the Panerai Assolutamente / Ass strap...

So I've been looking and working with different hides available to me, and I think I've come up with something that's close to the Assolutamente hide... It's a hide that I've worked with before, but have treated it to come close in color. No fish oils, no olive oils, nothing you cook with :lol: :lol: :lol:. Off white stitch, and edges painted in brown, one floating keeper, one fixed keeper...

I'm also not a big fan of tapered straps, so this one is 24/24. All I need now is the Noob 243l to get released, since my 249's lugs are in there for good!

Whatcha guys think? yay or nay?

Thanks guys! Definitely not a perfect match in color... I need to see if I can get a GEN strap in hand and compare it to hides that I stock, but also send it to the tanneries and distributors I deal with...

Looks like a nice strap. Not sure what color the ass. is supposed to be, too offended by the price to do much looking at them. Irregardless, I like the color you've created. What did you pad the top with? Same color on the underside?

Thanks m8! Yeah, the price of the GEN is pretty ridiculous... The top is padded with a piece of leather that I contoured and glued between the two layers. Same color on both sides of the strap.

That didn't sound right. But, looks good man. I will say, and I don't want to pee on anyone's party, although this is close to the gen, I totally don't get the appeal of this model. It just reminds me of those freak genetic experiment style canal street crazy indicator placements only thing it's missing is a window for the balance wheel

i kinda like the rep asso, mine has developed a patina that brings the colour closer to the gen..but i feel, the gen's a tad too dark..even on a dlc case.. as for "feel" not close..having felt the gen asso, e rep doesnt really come close..kind of a courser feel to the cloth.?
