I just received my rep and I am very pleased with my service from Hont and the quality. The first rep I ever got from exactreplicas.com about one year ago, I was too embarrassed to wear that crap on my arm (thank God for this forum)! This rep I feel confident about. The only thing that is concerning me and I need your opinions, its the dial. I was curious if the dials that you can find at NON-AD are aftermarket Rolex dials or gen dials. I was wondering if I should have my dial changed because in my opinion the roman numerals are off from the gen. I feel the gen's are thicker. What are your thoughts? Is it not significant enough to bother changing dials or does it stick out like a sore thumb to you?

I posted these pics in the Hont forum too. I don't have a sharp camera so I posted the pics Hont sent me as well so you can have more clarity when viewing the dial.

Also this is nothing major but kinda made me curious. On my gen Rolex if I did not wear it for a few days it would stop because of the automatic movement but when I received my rep it was still sweeping. It traveled for about 7 days without stopping!

ROFL!!!
...Do you think that postmail services care to not shake your package? It came from China to there shaking as hell, being throw as a potatoes sack, and due to that, receiving some 'winding' down the road...

Why do you think it needs to come so well packaged by the sender? :D

Cheers,
Spirit.

Ok I think I understand what you are trying to say.... that from being tossed around a lot the movement kept it going. Ok....duh on me! Sorry! I edited that part out of my original post.

Its a nice watch. A classic look. You have a gen datejust and it stops after a few days of wear? Thats curious. After 7 days the box it came is was rolled, flipped, tossed, you name it. Shiping a watch is a sure fire way to keet it wound. Can we see a wrist shot on you>>?

Hi Watchbuff,
Ok I understand now probably what Spirit was trying to say. Yes I had a gen Rolex and it would stop after a few days of wearing it.
I will take a wrist shot tonight.
So what are your thoughts on the dial?

+1 on what watchbuff said about the flipping tossing around of the package, can't think of a better way to keep a watch wound it did not sit perfectly still from china to your home :) as far as the thickness of the roman numerals forget that issue, unless your really anal, no bodys gonna come up an say ''hey you with the thin numerals you just been caught out'' the watch looks great. :D wear it well friend.

lol :D
...Glad you got it

About the dial, +1 on what caZ said.
Don´t worry about the numerals, it will do just fine as it is, and nobody will ever notice this difference while on the wrist, nor if you handle it to somebody see, unless you keep handling your GEN side by side with it. And even so, I guess nobody would notice it.
Plus the fact that if you already have a GEN, who would ever call you out on your second Rollie?

Enjoy your new watch and welcome to the forum, fella!
..We´re waiting for that wristshot pic (Post it on the weekly wristcheck thread too!)

Cheers,
:D

Thank you for the welcome Spirit but I'm a girl!! LOL.

Ok thanks for the input about the dial. I did have a gen but I gave it to my mother about one year ago because it was ladies size and it was too small for me. I didn't want to buy another gen because I rather invest that money other places especially when I can get a rep that can mechanically keep well and is very darn close esthetically to the gen.

I fully agree with that. I noticed that on my new GMT from Hont the marker at 6 is a tiny bit off to the left. The gold on the bezel is slightly warmer than the wrapped Super Jubilee band.

Will anyone notice?
No......but the quest for perfection is the juice isn't it?

Looks like your gen datejust will need a service. If it works when wound then the rotor may be stuck or something else.

The dial looks great. No one, but you, will ever notice/know that the roman numerals are a little smaller on the rep than they are on the gen. As Spirit said, both rep and gen would have to be side-by-side for anyone to see a difference. Put that baby on and enjoy it!

Datejust is doing great I love it! I have been traveling so I haven't had time to take wrist shots yet, but they are coming. I need my real camera though I'm only working with my cell phone camera now.

I have worn about 15 Rolex replicas for a year now. Thanks to this forum I know every detail of their various flaws. In that year no one has ever had a negative thing to say about my watches. They (the normal people you meet everyday) don't read these watch forums and don't know how to spot any flaws. They certainly have not memorized every detail of every Rolex ever made. Rolex produces over half a million watches each year with numerous minor variations to the very same model over time. How could any reasonable person be certain some "flaw" they spotted on your Rolex was not just one of the variations that have occurred over time? They can't.

Also, why be concerned about telling people it is a Replica? I tell all my friends I would never buy a genuine Rolex when I can have 15 high quality replicas for the same money. Or just buy one good replica and invest the rest of the money. No one needs to be "impressed" with what you buy. A jerk is still a jerk no matter how expensive his cars or watches. Likewise, a quality person is still a quality person no matter how inexpensive her possessions. Our possessions do not define us; our character does.

You are one smart woman, much smarter than those who are spending scarce money for gens.
