This is not a review, but a quick look at some pics I took today of the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Chronometer 43mm. While it's not 1:1, it is surely a stunning piece and for the $120 I paid to Hont far exceeded my expectations--BTW he was a pleasure to deal with. Wrist Shots comming soon.

too bad it's a fantasy

i like the anniversary model (white dial rose gold) a lot, asked hont if it comes with leather strap (like the GEN) hont said no yet... so i got the blue surf instead

Weird, you can get it on rubber upon request from UN, for all theese models.

but to my best knowledge, the GEN does not come with rubber strap, at least not the SS version...

Does not make the watch a "fantasy wach"

as I said, you can hav ethe watch fitted with a rubber strap if requested when ordered via AD.

You can order it with a rubber strap from an AD, you can also order it with a leather strap.

It's like adding a Seamaster rubber strap to my Speedmaster, it won't make it a fantasy or a fake because of that.

i know, but i have not seen this particular rubber strap being available...

the rubber strap is available in gold, rose gold, blue rubber

the only black rubber i have seen the style is a bit different...

Personally, I think this is the best looking of any of the UNs out there. I know it's a good watch and pretty close to the gen, but I find the Blue Smurf to be just ugly. And to Zenmaster-- I would take this watch in rubber over leather in a heartbeat. Adding a leather strap may make it closer to the gen, but in all the time I've been collecting reps, I have yet to see even a decent--let alone a good--leather strap for any rep.

Here are some wristies...
I just completed phase 1 of my water resitance test. Yes, it is very technical and stupid. Just dunked that baby and it passed the 5 second test. Will shower with it now.

EDIT: like it has been said before you can order the rubber strap with the one mid link in titanium from the dealer. I think it makes the watch. I like the leather too, but that mix of classic and modern is really neat IMHO..
