Hi there!

I am new to this forum and also new to the world of watches and reps. I always liked good looking watches but never could (or accepted) to pay the full price of a gen. Plus I can't imagine wearing the same watch every day.

I had the occasion to travel to China this year for my work. Off course, I went to the market and found great looking watches. They are low end reps compared to a lot of the ones I have seen on this forum, but I like them.

My favorite is a U-Boat Classico with working chrono quartz movement 50mm. Its been 4 months I have it and I love it! After shopping around in the trusted dealer zone I could not manage to find a U-Boat with the same back cover as mine have. I bought mine in a nothern city called Shenyang...

Any of you saw a back cover like this before?

Welcome to the forum. I have not seen a back like that before how much did you pay for the watch if you don't mind me asking.

I was on my own in the market, so ma negotiation skils were kind of amputed... I could not get it for less than 800 RMB (arround 126$ US according to XE.com at this moment. http://www.xe.com/ucc/convert/?Amount=800&From=CNY&To=USD)

I think it is kind of expensive for a quartz U-Boat I bought on site. but I love it!

The next ones I want to buy are:
The u-42 with titanium case. I wonder if its real titanium? I can just imagine the weight such a watch made of SS would be!

And my other fantasy would be a Flightdeck with the black dial, white marker and charcoal pvd SS case equipped with the asian version of the valjoux 7750. And I would add to it a nice custom strap from Prime Strap such as this combo:

Thank you Frank for the link! I can confirm that although this rep is not accurate and is more of a fantasy version, it is robust. I wear this watch 4/7 for the past 3 months and the only thing to report is that the PVD on the clasp is slowly showing some SS on the edges.

Well, after reading the description of the watch from your link Frank, it is not the same. The one from kuvarsit is made from beadblasted titanium.... :lol1:

hey mirage,

can you tell me your wrist size?

mine is 7.5 inch and when i had my gen 55mm cab, it looked almost ridiculous
yours seems fine on your wrist

It is a very nice watch you have there Frank, I was not aware they made 55mm Flightdecks. This must be hughe!. You dont have this baby anymore?

To answer your question, my wrist is 7.25, but pretty flat. It is actually 2.5 inches wide. So my 50mm (50 / 2.54 = 1.95 inch ) sits with a .25 margin each side. I also like to wear my watch pretty loose so it usually sits on the articulation where the hand begins.

i do not have it anymore, sold it much higher than i bought it.
i still regret it though, it was really an eye catcher. i got more compliments on this watch than any other watch combined, and i had it for a few months only.

my wrist is about 3 inch wide so i think the 50mm would suit it better, just like you.

Another question, was your FlightDeck powered by a 7750? Where have you bought it? And how did you like it? Well.... this is more like 3 questions in fact...

I am about to order a SS 7750 Flightdeck, i am hesitating between a white or a black dial.

Oups.... I just realized yours was a gen, forget about my questions ;)

haha,

yeah mine was 7750 powered, they never repped the 55mm.

the rep 50mm is super nice and the biggest flaw is the date font.
before, the date font was allright but the factories changed it on the curent batch.

if you are patient, you can buy a gen used for under 1500$, i paid mine 1200$ on WUS about a year ago. and it was like new

Thanks for the hint! I will keep my eye open!

Meanwhile, I will get a 50mm 7750 rep and potentially a U-42 also.
