Hey everyone. Just wanted to show you all my new watch and all the details behind it.

Back around Christmas time I was texting @occb2 and I asked him what he knew about the black bay reps.

He advised me to get a kit off ebay (this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blue-316L-S...ck-Bay-case-set-For-Eta-2824-2-/131696791257?) and that he would order an ETA 2824-2 from Star Time Supply. I ordered it on Dec. 29 and it was at my door on January 11.

Sent the watch out to Rob (occb2) and he was able to get a hold of the ETA (which was about $180 I believe) and worked his magic. Want to give a big thanks to Rob for putting this together and being the great guy he is. Thanks so much brother.

The watch looked great when he finished putting it all together. I got it back and realized that the lume was uneven, so I got in contact with Vac and he got the watch delivered on February 8th for waterproofing and reluming. I finally got the watch back from Vac at my door on the 27th of February which I am very pleased with. Here is the new lume on it.

Overall, I am very pleased with the watch and it will be getting some nice wrist time. Here are a couple of more shots I got today of it, I personally LOVE throwing it on NATO's. I will possibly look into getting the gen fabric strap for it sometime soon.

Beautiful watch. I'm a relative newcomer and am impressed with what you guys are capable of doing around here. I'm somewhat partial to The Tudor brand. I acquired a used Tudor sub back in 1970 for very little money. I was a teenager at the time and had just received my scuba diving certification. Unfortunately I lost track of it many years ago. I'd love to have it back today. Cheers

Black bays are some of the best reps around, very close to gen, it looks like you have a keeper there. I would recommend getting the Tudor fabric strap, it is way better than natos and will be the only way you wear the watch after getting one

c2cherry, First, welcome, well to posting at least. They are amazing reps. The funny thing is that Tudor's run the 2824-2 natively. They decorate the bridges and oscillating weight, but it is a 2824. This year that all stopped. Tudor will be making its own movements. So as far as a rep goes, yea the case is made in china but you can really do a complete tudor black bay with real everything being able to swap over. Find a real dial. On the OP's watch I used the hands that came with the kit, but when I built mine I used the stock Tudor hands. That was the only upgrade I did on it. LOL. Oh no I put a Tudor oscillating weight on it.

I gave that to my best friend here in NY.

So anyway as of now, The op can look for all Gen parts, Crystal and so on and slowly build a master Franklin!!!!

This is fantastic! I just got mine in red from a TD and I'll be putting a swiss 2824 in it as well

Legendarysam5 how's the bezel function on your kit? Mine could maybe use an adjustment or new click spring to get a bit less play

Mine has a little play too buddy, but it doesn't bother me too much. It doesn't move freely but if I tap it it'll move just a little bit.

Actually that sounds like his more play than mine. I'm being a little picky. Also I'm used to 120 click so i guess 60 click has a little more movement.

My movement died so I can't wait to get it running, I love it. It's such a great rep I don't think it's necessary to add gen parts

My gen Tudor bezel had play and could be pressed down onto the case when turning

Interesting. After you said that I looked at mine again. I knew it had the tiniest amount of vertical play not even worth mentioning. But what I noticed just now is that if I press down on the bezel as I turn it has a deeper sounding click and if you simply turn it without pressing it has a higher tingier sounding click. I'd be interstellar to hear the gen click. Does the rep have gen construction?
