Cheers. Ironically it make it easier to read the date and I prefer the cleaner look. I've always got my TC v6 if I desperately need to look at a cyclops...

I thought these were gen construction? You still need to modify the bezel?

I've been wearing my TC V6 for a week now (100% stock so far as I know) and I have no idea what you guys are talking about with the AR/blue/rainbow cyclops stuff. Mine is crystal clear and screams gen. Looks 100% original.

Personally I think the bezel insert is the weakest link on it, if there was one at all.

I'm the second owner (it was a Dec delivery, so basically brand new and never worn you could say) and apparently the prior owner did the spa treatment and had the clasp setup played with.

All I know is it feels gen as hell. There's nothing rep about it. Just screams quality. I have been getting comments left, right and centre. The gleam and brush finish it has is spot on too. Not close. Spot on.

I actually cleaned it over with a cloth and I *think*, I may have rubbed some of whatever amount of residual lube there was possibly left there, off. As it was super smooth and fluid, and now it is a little bit tighter on the folders (which I had wanted actually, at first). But now I miss the loose fluidity, so I might treat it myself.

I know someone said it elsewhere, because I read it here myself, but I can definitely say it myself now:

You will never, EVER, get called out on a TC V6. Period. Fact. /Story. The thing is stunning.

And it's not a case of 'oh I'll get one and put a gen crown on it and change the crystal and insert and then it will be good. It is out of the box perfection. Any misconceptions from staring at 10x zoomed images online are completely blown out of proportion and aforementioned mods would be strictly for personal peace of mind and/or posterity and/or future resale value. On the wrist it's so tiny and the dial/hands and case where all the magic happens is going to flaw anyone incl the wearer. I say there's maybe a little weakness there on the insert but I don't quite mean it. It's just the one area that's perhaps 95% instead of 100, and I can't quite put my finger on why. Maybe I would have preferred a square 4 instead of the pointy 4 on the bezel insert to follow the Y series theme, I don't know. To my face value eye it's identical to gen, but somehow it's the only part that also makes me feel it definitely isn't.

Just my 0.02c. I should start my own thread actually.

my gen insert just snapped right in. never had a problem with it.
i did get a flat 4 insert but im pretty sure theyre all the same dimensions.

Gen crystal and gasket was a tighter fit but thats a good thing.

havent tried to put a gen crown/tube on a TC but ive heard those are pretty easy too.

Thankyou Sir. One of the reason I was hesitant on ordering one is because of all the threads where people are adding gen parts to TC V6 SUB. I know TC V6 SUB is near to perfect, at least while on the wrist without dismantling it.
Im not saying others are wrong on adding gen parts to it (we all want one which is as close to gen as possible, I want it too if my wallet allows), but subconsciously it sets my mind thinking that there are still clear visible 'flaws' on TC SUB which there arent!
Your post just knocked my senses up, im gona put together my money and place my order ASAP!

Honestly, I expected to add gen parts myself. Had done all the same forum reading. Had planned on what to buy. "Perhaps maybe just the crystal," I thought. "People are saying it makes the watch. And brings the dial to life."

But as soon as I opened this thing... they're just not needed at all. And I'm quite literally medication dependant levels of OCD. I can appreciate that some do (for, whatever reason) but the only way you're going to tell this is a rep is by taking it off your wrist, unscrewing the back and looking at the movement. Adding gen's is just for the hell of it/peace of mind to know ?that they're gen. And for seemingly cost-effective visual mods (insert/crystal).

It's just so ornate and gleams beautifully from every angle. And I've only ever handled gens. I couldn't imagine a rep of lesser quality than this.

I'm one of those 'has the money to buy gen, but simply wouldn't for an identical watch at this price-rs'.

Well, the insert, while good, is not the same parity to gen as the rest of the watch. If you look at

compared to my picture (with a gen insert):

you can immediately see the difference in the pearl. I think a gen insert is needed to really make this watch "perfect," but the TC insert isn't bad. I've got a gen crystal and crown on the way to me. My cyclops has the blue AR hue and simply just isn't as clear to read as a gen cyclops, which bothers me. But otherwise, the watch really is perfect and the best rep, of any brand, that money can buy.

Loving my v6. I'll probably end up with a gen insert as suggested but the stock TC is pretty damn good. Only a rep WIS would call it out IMO...

I still can't put my finger on it, but I think basically what is said by asdfpenguin is spot on. The rest of the watch is so pretty, correct and quality, I think the insert being at 95% makes it stand out as not as quality.

Super close like the pics you can tell, but not in hand on the wrist. I think it's the only thing I'll change on mine, eventually, as well.

So just to confirm, the TC V6 Submariner DOES NOT come with the rehaut etching? Or is that an extra?
