Thank you for your statement watchfanatic.

But to clear some questions. I didn't see the factory inside. I didn't see how the parts of the watch are beeing produced. I think no one here in the forums has ever seen that.

The good quality watches no one of the street dealers in GZ has in Stock. Also in the office they may have 3-4 PC's for showing. If you want to buy they get it for you within an hour. They get the watch from a dealer who is hidden far behind in the watch parts area and officially sells things like crowns, tubes, screws, crystals and so on. This guy has a stock of maybe 20 watches. The next level is his upper connection. This connection is a guy who delivers the watches once or twice daily to this 20-30 PC's/day stock people. He maybe has a daily stock of 100-200 PCs. There are maybe 4-5 guys like him. And they buy from the "real place" where i also have been. So you can also see how many of these "good quality" HBB watches are sold daily in GZ.

Still want the dark one (it is now in the middle). Seems like no dealer has it.

very nice indeed..

I envy u got the money to go there ..get all the information ..and went on a shopping spree..really cool stuff...LOL

but why make the price a secret..not everyone will go there and buy it ..its just a price for us to know..and if people really want the watch..they will still buy from all the dealers...

everybody keeping secret of how much its cheaper over there and wat nnot...tell the price...

seriously...I will go to GZ one day...and will tell all the price..all the loop holes and all the streets overthere so people who wants to go there can go there and spend their money ... we all the watch collectors in the forum dont signed any MoU with all the dealers here about watches prices or anything else..its a freedom world where you ca buy from anyone u want...

I know you don't just happen on the factories by chance.
There are a 100 investigators of copy right there daily looking for them with very little success.
Who I am sure are prepared to pay good money for information.
This is illegal and if an agent of the rights holder found a factory of any consequence they would immediately with the help of their Embassy get it closed.

I myself don't spend that much time there in GZ I hate the dirty stinking place I have to go from time to time, but limit it to just coming and going as soon as I can.

Narikaa is probably a better person to ask that I as he is there for weeks at a time every other month or so for the last 5 years +

I am in a very fortunate position as a friend of mine for the last 20 years is huge in the business and I can add on to his factory orders the rest I can source from a couple of people in Bangkok so don't need to travel to China that much.

I do have certain people in GZ I buy from but only in an emergency if it's not available in Bangkok.
I have found over the years that buying in Bangkok in most cases is an economical way to do it, once you factor your time risk getting then back etc there is nothing in it, unless you need 1000 of something then it's only marginal because the people I deal with in Bangkok are huge factory buyers and are able to supply at better prices than the average vendor in GZ

It would probably be more accurate saying that there are 100 investigators been given the run around most of the time, and when they are fortunate enough to locate a snitch with questionable info and enlist the help of embassy officials, they usually end up being led to some small time dealer, or allowed to participate in an orchestrated "crackdown". That is assuming these factories are really that "hidden", I'd say it is more likely they are just well guarded industrial compounds, treated by the authorities a bit like a "chemical weapons" level facility would be.

Mind you, I know nothing about the replica watch making business in China, just a bit about "how things work" in corrupt, or communist based, regimes. But I may be wayyyyy off. I just think this would be a more realistic scenario, given the circumstances (very large money making, job generating, industry building, engineering and oriented, politically useful, regime supporting bussiness).

Thank you for your statement watchfanatic.

From the numbers you're quoting, it looks like you got no closer to a factory than any of the above mentioned investigators would have. Maybe close to one of many wholesale representatives, if that.

Sorry, forgot. The reason the OP isn't posting a price, is because it would show just how far removed from the factory he actually was.

The fact is, actual factory costs would not be hard to determine. There are many studies, and industry reports, giving labour costs, raw material costs, equipment costs, operating costs in great detail, along with the actual costs of the final product, for factories in China that produce electronic and mechanical components.

I believe there was a report on the cost to manufacture an iPod circulated for ages on the web, a couple of years ago. That report was quite detailed and eye opening. Since then, many other more detailed and cost revealing reports have been published. Not sure what the big mystery is.

I just wish Russia or, even Japan, would open up a few of their own "factories", with government support. People forget how Canon and Nikon got started, or the Russian FED offering :) But I suppose that's a bit of a different subject.

The OP is trolling around several forums seeking desperatly attention...he is arrogant and does not even know the difference between first factory and other HBB versions/quality. He even questions HBB fanatics who have been following it's evolution since it was launched.
He propably met with a dealer but who is he really to have a priviledge access to the factory itself...gimme a break!
I could care less if he paid $10/watch good for him but do not try and convince others they are best factory quality...

1st the reason he is not giving the price is simple regardless of what he says his reasons are the real reason is he is hoping to sell these and pay his trip.

On RG he was bragging about buying at 1/3 dealer prices but was comparing the savings based on the $700 watches, in reality what he has saved is closer to $50-$70 and some of the watches he has bought are below the level of the dealer's on the forum level of quality.

He as saying on RG how he as going to make $1000's of dollars with the watches on his return.
The only reason he was reporting the trip on the forums was in the hope people would PM him and hope to sell them watches no other reason.
The report was not informative enough to be anything more than an attempt find members to subsidize his holiday by buying watches from him secretly

shady dealings...

Well thats my take on it and it's borne out by his statement on RG of being in a position to earn $1000's on his return.

Add to that his reluctance to give details of the watches and prices and you have a classic back door dealer scenario.

If it was a genuine member going there they wouldn't have been able to contain themselves and would have posted the prices 1st thing followed by a million pictures of what they had bought

Makes complete sense, the build-up before the shakedown.

What's his username on RG?

That's for sure. They probably would have announced that they would be heading there as well, to hopefully get some leads on exactly which areas to hit :)

OK, just finished reading a few pages of that, and I get the feeling that some market guy just saw an easy target, brought him to his offices, then to a friends, then perhaps took him down to an industrial area, pointed to any factory and told him "that's the rep factory, but don't tell anyone though". Then back at the office, pulled out some of his "better than standard" reps, and added a little extra onto the usual selling price, to make up for the time it took to give the "tour" :biglaugh:
