My first attempt at a strap

So I decided to build a strap for my 301, out of an old leather work belt.. Progress so far:

130x 80 3.6mm thick. Made some brass tubes ( got some proper ones ordered) Managed to burnish edges but don't know what to seal it with or what to finish it with leather wise..

Prob am gonna, just waiting for some needles and stuff I've ordered... the buckle isn't fastened it just place for picture. I'm pleased so far tho

i'd just use some leather conditioner. it'll slightly darken it out and even the colors to make it more natural rather than a 'recently scratched' strap haha

Get some leather, I've used an old work belt, read tutorials on the forum also YouTube has videos too... A good sharp blade... Steel straight edge and patience plus it gets me away from the soaps on tv, always a bonus ha ha

Just any kind of leather? my old belt is faux leather with foam padding :facepalm:

I'd use a real leather one you can spend £15- £20 on a nice belt then make 2 to 3 straps and kept yourself busy for ages .. Alternatively purchase leather of different sorts from the web...
