OK so I’m a little slow in posting pics. The Package arrived yesterday at the office and I was on leave. However, I did open it up today and I grabbed some quick pictures just a while ago. Sorry for all the dust on the watches. I didn't intend for this set to be super nice, but it should be enough for you guys to draw your own conclusions about how accurate this watch is compared to the Gen.

Again I don’t have the Gen nor have I seen one up close, so maybe someone else who has seen the Gen up close can comment.

The rubber strap is somewhat different from my BR03-92. the buckle is thicker and more substantial. I’m not sure which is more accurate. Case thickness measures 11.42mm across the middle of the watch.

Things I’ve noticed:
The case and face screws are noticeably different from the BR03-92. I realise the BR03-92 I have is the infamous 00176 series and there is a better version out now.

The crown on the Rep BR03-88 has some resin encapsulation on the ‘&’ logo. Can someone comment if this also like that on the Gen?

Lugs. Don’t the BR03 lugs look different?

Crown is nice and easy to use. I set the watch following the B&R instructions online. Works fine. It’s not intuitive like a casio G-shock, but then a G-shock also has many more buttons. This watch has one crown and it looks very clean.

AR is good. I don’t know if it’s single or double AR but I would say it’s decent at cutting out reflections.

The dial on mine seems a bit off to the right. I initially thought it was the bezel that was off but the dial markers don’t line up with the bezel at both 12 and 6 positions so if you look you might notice this. Can this be fixed?

I will try to put up pics here. For the moment please go here:

I need one of these!!! Does it come in the PVD case? Where did you get it? I like the fact that you got a gift box and all the goodies...

This one was from puretime. I believe hont also has it.

The rubber strap has a sheen to it that my other BR03-92 strap does not have. It's firm and I'm breaking the strap in. At the moment it doesn't sit like it should.

Oh. The movement is cool. The minute hand moves every 30 seconds and it moves precisely half a step to the next minute marker. It doesn't creep along.

I have to say I do prefer this slightly shiny rubber strap to the one on my BR03-92. Both look and feel pretty good. I'll probably change the BR03-92 strap for a leather one. Eventually.

lildaddym : No mine was the full box set and this one apparently has the Gen ETA quartz movement in it. Puretime has it for $588. Hont might have it but i can't seem to find it on the website. The US$118 version uses a japanese quartz and that oe isn't as accurate in terms of the LCD proportion and spacing.

Pics

My BR03-88 dial looks a ittle off, but by no means is it obvious. i'm a type A personality on this. i don't think it's very apparent in the pictures though.

Anywayhere goes. For some reason the pics display for me at first and then the next time I visit the thread the pics are somehow no longer displayed. does anyone else experience this?

OK in the last pic the misalignment may be visible. it's very slight and i might try to fix this myself if i learn how to release the movement from the casing. is the removal the same as Wiz's tutorial for the BR01-92?

How long is the rubber and nylon strap? I have 8 1/4 inch wrist and the other Bell and ross reps have me use the last hole in the rubber strap and the nylone strap is barely holding. Are these the same length straps ?

Thanks,

Steve

The strap is 115/75 - not long at all. My wrist is 6.5" and I'm on the 3rd or 4th tightest position. You might want to pick up a longer strap if you decide to get this watch.
