My BC 6538
A long overdue project
A long overdue project
Here is another project which started many many moons ago, maybe it was still 2016.
The fact is at that I had just begun building vintage rolexes but I was so impressed with Bart Cordells decal work that I wanted, no I needed, to build a 6538 with one of his dials. You all know how good BC's dials look and I'm sure you understand me
I remember asking him for a damaged or reject dial, it would have been enough for me, but I was lucky and he had one in good conditions and agreed to sell it to me.
Once I received I was happy and worried at the same time. It looked so nice I admit I was worried to damage it, I still was not used to the tiny parts used in rolexes, they look half the size of the same part on a Panerai
This dial sat in my drawer for a long time as my attention was dragged to this or that project, it's been a very busy year for me, but I finally managed to put this watch together and I am pleased to share it with you.
Here are the specs:
- Silix case reshaped, drilled, aged
- Silix bezel completely reshaped, brassed tightened
- Athaya crown and tube
- Sternkreuz T21 plexi
- Raffles insert lightly aged
- Tiger concept gold hands with big ball seconds, aged and lumed
- Cartel rivet bracelet, my favourite (yuki's is too short for me )
And some more pics:
That's all, but just for now. There will be more to come.
Hope you enjoyed the reading and pics
