Thanks @Reaps for the pics. I am impressed with the stainless steel as well, come a long way from the other 222 reps and although it still has its issues I think its probably as close as we will get given its not a Rolex or one of the other more popular brands. Hope someone will have one in hand soon to see what the quality is like.

It looks like an old hubcap of a VW Beetle. :ROFLMAO:
I wonder why they are doing it like that?
The way they do it on the gen doesn´t appear to be more complicated.
Strange.
They do it because different from the genuine movement the 9015 got a seconds pinion which needs a seconds hand or a cap otherwise there‘d be a hole in the middle.

You can see the same with the 15202 with a too wide hand base because of it.

Understood.
But why not put a little pin in the hole, just how it looks like on the gen?
That seems to be an easy solution imho.
I know you are not in charge of design & production at mxf - correct? :ROFLMAO:
A pin and a pinion cap are two different things. You need a sort of tube shaped pinion cap which is different in diameter because of its nature covering a pin(ion) than just a pin you put into a blank hole.

The gen uses a rounded pinion in the center to attach the minute hand to. The rep tries to imitate the rounded appearance while mitigating the larger diameter. It would look weon wither way because they do not change the 9015‘s architecture from the ground.

On the 9015 there is an hour wheel, a minute wheel and the seconds pinion - different construction than the 1121 or new manufacture calibre

I'm still sitting on the sideline. I know the chances of MXF fixing the flaws with a new update is low, considering the brand popularity of VC. Just wondering how many of you have pulled the trigger?

@munichman Not sure if you have a preference on dealers but Jtime who is trusted on here said they could source them when I asked today. Thinking of getting the blue or the gold but now the grey is also in the mix haha Gold may be a bit much, I always like the thought and then regret it.

Isn´t there a grey dial with solid steel case & bracelet?
At least at the beginning of this thread there is a picture grey with ss.
that's the old vintage reference housing the 1121 with different case specs, a closed case back and different DW position.

The grey MXF variant is a fantasy piece - especially with the hallmarks - the auction you linked is referring to the original 222 which was supposedly made 1 of 1 in precious metal. This is not represented by MXF as they used the newly released version with the new in-house movement, open case back etc.

I'd say this is a fun release to play around with it without taking it too seriously. Hopefully more stablished factories will jump on this.
