Does it stop in the the same place every time? Are two hands touching each other?

Hi, if "it stops in the same spot" either the hour, the second or the minute hand must be at a certain spot. Typical would be for the second hand to be touching the crystal (or the dial or the minute hand) at the same spot or near a certain hour of the day - sometimes it passes, sometimes it "hangs".

It was passing before and now it won't pass at all.. it is nowhere near the minute hand, hour hand or face... I guess I'll take it apart and have a look......

Possibly the second hand hitting the back of the crystal. Loosen the two movement holder tabs and set it face up and see it it runs. Or better yet, take it out of the case and check to make sure all the hands are parallel to the dial and the dial is sitting flush on the movement.

The watch dealer is gonna take it back and sort it out for me..... thank you for all your input. I will start with a cheaper watch for practice in repairs and service ect.
