Those first two pics of the watch head even appear to BE Davidsen's pictures. They sure look just like the pictures on his photobucket site.

EDIT -- I just traded emails with the guy, he's over on RWG. Like I told him, I don't blame him for turning a profit on that watch. If people are willing to pay $800+ for something they could get for $300 if they looked around a bit, too bad for them.

An interesting note for any of us that ever sell watches on the 'Bay, you'll note his description is kinda vague about the movement, etc.

He originally posted a full description of the movement, that it was a Molnija 3602 with applied Rolex bridge plates, etc. and eBay kicked it back and wouldn't allow it. Hence his changing the description. I found that strange and interesting at the same time.

p the money Dave, you've no reason to feel bad, it's a free market and if someone wants to pay $800+ for it I don't see a problem.

I guess that some people live in a world without much fun.... and see everyone else in that light. If I were a scammer, I would not be here enjoying the discussions and the camaraderie associated with being with friends. I'll do exactly what I said, as that's part of my honor code. I'm looking forward with enjoying telling the buyer to send half of what he expects. Frankly, I never expected the bidding to get above $350 anyhow, and the entire thing is amusing to say the least. It ought to amuse everyone here on the site as well so stay tuned for the final chapter. Fun is where we find it. Smile and don't be so grumpy! And welcome to the list.

Best to all,

Dave

Unfortunatly I think you are going to get stung by a shill, and then have to fight with ebay to get your listing fees back. Had the same thing happen with a ps3 I sold and it wasn't pretty... Almost cost me $100.

well,

I do not sell any of my watches in the e bay.But i have no objection of any one re selling my watches in the Bay at all. This is really a free world as long as he does not sell it as a Gen.

Selling it at us$800 or us$200 is really his own decision.I do not bother too much on this issue.

David - very reasonable of you.

Oh, and Diver Dave, I thought your post re Wiegmann's site photo of a gen 2533 was tactfully worded.

Hi Diver Dave,

Welcome to this wonderful forum. Hope you'll enjoy your stay.

I could not agree more with what you explained back there.

I guess others are just jealous you're making some money out of your
hobby. :)

But that's how capitalism works, and like you said, your investment in time
and money on years of crap reps must count for something too. It's not
as if you're forcing the buyer to buy from you. Cheers.

This is Fcuked up. It's just wrong to attract attention to our places. It has been discussed ad nausea and no matter how many sophistic justifications are brought around. Tell me, who buys into this "our intellectual property is worth something"? I own several reps, some are Davidsen's would I sell them? For a profit? C'mon this is bullsiht and we all know it.

Congratulations Diver Dave-

YOU HAVE THE BIGGEST DICK.

And I thought a guy with a 9 year old's wrist wearing a $200 rep of a $30,000 watch was silly.

There seems to be a little honor among thieves here.

You buy your reps, you keep your mouth shut, and you NEVER sell it claiming it to be real, or artfully craft the wording to seem real. You sell it within this little "Community". And you NEVER buy these to turn a profit, because then you really are exposing yourself to too many civil and criminal charges. Buy em for your own personal use and you're not.

Now I have to get back to my day job- I'm a porno star.

Aqua:

LMAO

"Highway to the danger zone"

The guys who brag the loudest about what they do/did are usually REMF's or not even in the service.

"Remington Raiders: (IE as in Remington typewriter) , "Chairborne"

Or this guy could just be young and immature. I can show you all manner of "business cards" that were popular among GI's, Chopper pilots and fighter pilots during the Vietnam War--including the one stating things about drinking, death on call, virgins etc etc etc

That MIG's high speed. :)

I'm not up on Zoomers--is that a Korean War vintage plane? I am quite certain they were used in Nam as well
