Yep, mine fit with no mods, Joe. However, the 44mm mini-Fiddy case is much bigger than the "normal" 44mm cases where the dial/crystal are concerned. (Thanks to Enzo for that bit of info up front.)

Case in point, DSN's replacement sapphires are 35.5mm for a 44mm watch. This case uses crystals that are 1.5+mm bigger.

VWF,
you said the movement came with the watch, can I ask what model did you start with and from which dealer. Definitely would not replace movement till it dies, it looks great and complements the entire project.

Thanks to Flavor Flav on this one. I can't wait to get it back.

List of what I've got:

5. Movement -- Asian 6497. I may still switch it for a Swiss, but it's going to be one with some decoration. I'll get it from Tourby just as soon as he's got some available. I used the one that came witht the watch, though, because the Officine Panerai stickers could come off easily, and it's pretty nicely finished (looking, if not in quality). Flav serviced it for me, and he's going to keep it a few days to make sure it's working well.

I think it turned out great!

Lefty, I believe the donor watch for this project came from TWP, the replacement dial and hands came from Davidsen.

The movement came in the watch I purchased from TWP. I must say, though, that out of the box it was giving terrible results, gaining a few hours a day. Flav fixed it and replaced a few of the parts with Swiss parts.

Wow, very nice 'product' at the end !

Here's something for the Cali dial lovers and Rad case haters :)

44mm Fiddy case is really something...sometimes I wish Panerai left the whole hystoric line cased in it.
Than again, who could resist the square-ish pre-V Luminor case, eh ?

Wear it in good health,

First rate ... I think enzo made the first one I had seen - and you have executed a ripper also.

The blue hands are striking! I say OP should make it for real :D

Not here yet. Boy, the wait is killing me. I can't wait to see/handle this thing. I just got my spring bars from River on Tuesday, and they're sitting here ready to go.

Thanks, dude. By the way, do you think there's any sort of water resistance with this watch? I'm not talking about deep sea diving, but splashes are ok?

Perfect! I ordered a 40mm crystal for the watch in my avatar, too.

Looks great VWF.
