MINI FIDDY PROJECT COMPLETE -- pictures inside

Thanks to Flavor Flav on this one. I can't wait to get it back.

List of what I've got:

1. Mini-fiddy case from the Prince.
2. Low-dome acrylic from cousins UK (37.2)
3. Davidsen 45mm cali dial
4. Davidsen 45mm blued hands
5. Movement -- Asian 6497. I may still switch it for a Swiss, but it's going to be one with some decoration. I'll get it from Tourby just as soon as he's got some available. I used the one that came witht the watch, though, because the Officine Panerai stickers could come off easily, and it's pretty nicely finished (looking, if not in quality). Flav serviced it for me, and he's going to keep it a few days to make sure it's working well.

Yep, looks the mutt's for certain!

I wouldn't go swapping out that movement until it dies (and given the track record for properly serviced A6497s, that will most likely be quite a while). Tourby's are a little prettier, but it's not as though that movement is ugly. :wink:

I think this dial is from a 45mm Radiomir. I bet the 47mm Rad dials would fit no problem.

Yes Hooligan feel a first project coming on, this watch looks seriously stylish. I have davidsen mm20 with display back and plain CG, which was recased in a 1950 case as the crystal sat a little proud. So with the announcement of davids fiddy's being back in stock, I am thinking I could fit a california dial and get nice hommage/fantasy watch and replace the MM with a new fiddy. I love the MM20 but I have a pvd one too which I think suits the MM dial the best so this looks like smart recycling - hey I could save the planet!

I think the plexi is the best choice for longevity. It sounds like it's just a matter of time before these mineral crystals pop, and then where are you. Plus, the original crystal when I received the watch was cloudy and just looked awful. I mean, really, really awful.

Chris says he's shipping the watch to me via USPS priority, which means I should have it by Friday, or Monday at the latest.

Did the dial fit clean?

It's quite surprising that a dial for 45mm PAM fit so well into a 44mm case.

It's very awesome! I never liked Pam 249, but this case makes it so much better.
