Just out of curiosity is it hard to obtain a genuine gv crystal and swap it for the rep? I am also really eager to pick up a GV although when I went to an AD the gv did not look as green as the pictures portray.

I've read that you can't get the gen ones from an AD, that only Rolex replaces them when you send it in for service, but of course now I can't find a link to the source.

No you probably won't find the gv crystal for sale anywhere. Rolex no longer supply parts outside of its service centres. And there's no guarantee on it fitting either.

+1. If you really like the GV, then buy and enjoy it. Otherwise, the black face is the way to go. The larger seconds hand and 'Milgauss' dial are the only small tells anyway.

Don't get me wrong, GV was one of my first reps and I loved it. The raised Milgauss lettering is such a minor detail. The seconds hand isn't that bad, just the gen is slightly crisper on the edges and has a slight bevel rather than being flat. But like most reps, from wrist distance no one is going to know.

That being said, the black face is the most accurate of all of them.

Watcheden has a 116233 on sale for $79. Anyone have experience with theirs?

Horn at that price it will have the 21j movement which needs to be avoided with such a heavy seconds hand on this model.

Just tried on a gen at an AD and it's official - I love it. I'm amazed that it retails for more than subs or other watches with at least a date or additional complication. $7800 has guaranteed that I'm going with Trevor
