D4me,
I highly recommend this watch. The build quality is as nice as I have seen on a rep. It is more faithful to the gen than the Cousteau Divers or HBB. I have had more positive comments in the 10 days that I have been wearing it than all my reps combined over the past year.
1. Dial. The lettering and features are spot on. It is 1:1 as much as I have ever seen. Even the day date fonts are made to match the original perfectly. Alignment of daydate as you can see from my pics is perfect. The only obvious differences are thathe rep lume is not strong in my batch, but that may improve as they go. Lettering on the dial, engraved lettering on the bezel seem exact to original.
3. Case. Very very close. You would have to have the cases side by side to see that the "vent" like details on the pushers and the other side of the case are subtly different from gen. the general look and feel is authentic. The case size is 43, sits smaller on the wrist than my 177H or the 250 that I have from you-
4. Rubber strap and clasp match the original quite closely. The strap seems to be made of similarly quality "dust repellent" rubber like the IWC CD. The clasp requires trimming the strap, but that's par for the course. The clasp looks identical to the gen, with matte and polished surfaces.
5. Movement-- There is a display back, but it is not an automatic giveaway. If you look at Andrew's pictures you can see that they have modified to a7750b to be almost identical to the movement on the gen. Blued screws, cote de geneve plates are details that are identical. The rotor is forged with the identical wheelspoke design and the porsche design lettering is also engraved (not stuck on like the HBB). There is only one very subtle difference. The small dagger regulator present on the gen 7750 is missing on all a7750b mvmts and they have not attempted to recreate this. An earlier 21.6k a7750 movement would have actually been closer in this respect.
I don't think you will be disappointed with this watch. I wonder if some folks have gotten hung up on the relatively reasonable price for then gen on this watch ($2500) and the a7750b. As to the first, I don't really care about gen prices, as long as the gen isn't available for <$1k. As to the second, this a7750b keeps great time and has given great service... So I don't know what the fuss is about.
