The main mods of marlin are in the movement.
Publish the pics of your movement.
Anyway I would prefer marlin give his opinion better. He knows this watch perfectly

That is an older V1 127 with the incorrect minute hand, it does however have a great crystal. Also the CG pin looks rounded on top, it should be flat and with a mirror finish. Still a great watch........:cheers:

Neither an expert, though from the pictures, crystal does look a little hazy. Perhaps that is why you have observed it to be not as black, or as contrast as you wish wanted it to be. Would you dare to tinker with it and give the crystal a good cleaning? Though cleaning the insides of a crystal can be a pain in the a** to get it right.

I could be wrong regarding a dirty crystal. Nothing beats making a proper assessment with actual watch on hand. Live and let live, you have a magnificent watch, enjoy it mate!
