Hats Off to You!!!

falco,

3 things, mate:

first, you've done a fantastic vintage project. very "real" looking, and something you will wear with pride i'm sure.

second, cheers to you that you openly discuss how you went about doing this and answer everyone's questions. i've been SHOCKED that some members here consider doing what you did as some kind of trade secret...even when they don't do it for a business service for others! i thought this was a place for helping and guiding each other in getting our dream watches. i applaud and thank you for your openness. your ingenuity and end result, coupled with your openness, reflect the best spirit possible of RWI.

third, your pictures look like they can be the cover of a panerai history book. great photography!

wear it in the best of health, and again, many thanks for sharing your great work, methodology and pictures!

Thanks! :D
Yes definitely we should all share our failures or successes in getting better reps,
that's good about this forum, we should all work on this.

Adding to the recipe could be something I got from Madasboot (thanks!):
"BTW do not forget to seal the "sugared" numeral cutouts with a coat of satin varnish being careful not to stain the dial surface with it!"
Especially if you want the numbers to be more glossy and make the dial more stable

I'll post full description of vintage process later today, since I'm curently at work.
The Luger P08 is a genuine ww2 german officer issue that I've just finished restoring but tried to keep its agened patina and wear.

LOVE the weapon! Very nice. My Dad had one still in the Cosmo and sold it in the 50's for $25. AHHHHHHH!
