Get a can of mink oil, which is used for shoes. Im sure you will get great results, and a can/jar is only a few bucks. Whats left, you can use on your shoes.
Or Macadamia Oil for those who are against the fur trade, like Mrs Pugwash.

Stick that strap on your oily face (nose part especially). You'll get a pretty good result.

hmm, the face oil thing sounds plausible, but also a bit gross,

Im in med school, and have seen some really gross stuff, but even that grosses me out!

A)use some olive oil, as others have pointed out.
B) Get a can of mink oil, which is used for shoes. Im sure you will get great results, and a can/jar is only a few bucks. Whats left, you can use on your shoes.

here's how i distress my straps...

dunk in water w a lil soap..waterproof straps will require over 24hrs in water..

then massage the strap while it's still wet..pull them, squeeze them, pinch them, etc..

then use some sandpaper on the sides..

dunk the wet strap in oil for a few hours..

remove, let it dry in a cool, dry place, no heat!!

apply lots of leather oil..

then mink oil...i'll usually place them under the scotching sun at this pt too..

more leather oil and mink oil..

then use kiwi natural polish for the shine.. :)
