Especially when we can't tell you for certain if that case (which is the only part you would re-use) will even work with a 6497?

Just curious but why would I want to remove the automatic winding Asian movement I have to replace it with a winding movement you guys are recommending ? my case back is closed and you cant see inside the watch anyways... plus when it was working it kept time fine.
I could see that if i had a case with an open back that it would then look authentic but you cant see my movement...

Dude...the canion pin of the asian automatic screams FAKE....the watch you have should have not cost more then 80-90 $.
you have no idea.... what it takes to upgrade it.....you can not do it, and you will not find anybody that is willing to do it.
its not worth it....
