Louis Pion I picked up while in France

Went to Greece about 4 years ago and picked this watch up. I was actually walking thru the airport and just saw it in the window of a upscale watch shop. Never heard of the brand before, but at the time I really was interested in an IWC pilot.
This watch measures about 45mm. I've never seen this watch here in the states or come across it anywheres else.

Maybe someone can help me out with this. The date wheel will display numbers 00-40. What's that all about?
