Tried asking ur bank that you got scammed? Might work. So sorry if not :/

Thanks, but I didn't get scammed. I asked because my understanding is what ChronoKitsune explained in his post on page 2 of this thread. I thought that maybe I was wrong and you had some info that I wasn't aware of. I appreciate your response though!

Hi Folks,

A long story short.
  • Chose watch
  • Paid it with BitCoin Payment - Special instructions will be sent via email - I was looking for the 5% discount - see email attached with no warning of specific Crypto Currency
  • Had to open a BitCoin account
  • Bought BitCoin, commission is nearly at 7%
  • New to Crypto Currency, I paid $464 in BitCoin Cash instead of BitCoin
  • BitCoin Cash went out of my BitCoin Wallet
  • Andrew said he never got it due to different payment Crypto Currency
  • Contacted BitCoin Support service (screenshot attached)
  • Contacted back Andrew and he said: "I asked my payment guy to try and they say they are not able to retrieve"
$464 down the drain due to technical incompetence of the guys Andrew is working with

Great Experience!!!!!!!!!! Highly Recommended!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As i explained and many forum members can attest to what I mentioned, the wrong crypto was sent and I already checked with my payment guys many times and they do not have it

The wallet is only able to accept BTC and not Bitcoin Cash

If I were able to retrieve it, I would have done so

I have never used bitcoin however I have came close to trying. I decided not to even try as it seemed a little complex just to save a few dollars. It is clear the wrong type of bitcoin was sent and as such trusty did not get a payment. If it did not go through where does it go? Is it forever floating around in cyberspace and as such no way for anyone to retrieve it? I agree the mistake here was on the buyer and I am curious how this works. Why is there different types of bitcoin anyway? Seems like it would be better for everyone involved if there were just one type. I know this is a little off topic here and if it is improper feel free to ignore my ramblings. I think this thread could help prevent others from the same mistake and again although I feel bad for the buyer no way can anyone blame Trusty for this situation.

Should have done it through Wester Union or even a Credit Card, I saw saving 5% is not worth the hassle. I just use a credit card and keep an eye on it. Always works and better not to save 5% than to loose everything. But you learned a lesson. We all have those though life. And this isnt your last. Now take time to relax and when you are ready again do it with WU or Credit Card.

Andrew is great when it's a straight forward transaction. If an issue comes up, they are not great at handling it in a timely manner. I think there are also multiple people working there but they all use the name Andrew, right?

Mbizzi When I transfer BTC or USDT even to my wife account I send $1.00 USDT or BTC first just to be sure. It will save you a lot of trouble. If you are wrong you only have lost small money.

Jesus Christ, you don’t know shit about cryptos, but chose to pay with them, paid 7% to buy some so you could get a 5% discount, screwed up the transfer by sending the wrong one, and then blame Andrew for it? Can we ban this guy?

You guys are funny!!!

The flexibility of accepting different Crypto Currencies is there.
Andrew has not the system flexibility neither the willingness to recover the money sent.

What would you do if MichaelXX is trying to lodge €1000 in your US bank account but the bank refuses it because you account can only accept $?
Would you tell MichaelXX to change currency or would you try to deal with the bank to get the money in?

Think about it!!!!

You expect a vendor to work their end to retrieve money you didn’t know how to send when they’re still holding the product?? He’s no reason to work to collect money for a watch he knows other people who can properly pay him will purchase.

And why the hell would he? I’m buying a watch from him wiring money instantly with wise while you’re dicking around with crypto you don’t understand. Who should he spend his time with?

Yup, I did the same thing to transfer to my gambling account. Send a buck to two over first, then the hefty amount. And Coinbase will warn you not to send Bitcoin Cash to a Bitcoin account. Whoever came up with bitcoin cash is the varmint here.

I agree that a ban is not in order here however we can all be a little pissed that he expected us to agree with his flaming of a trusted dealer for a mistake that was no fault of the dealer. Although I am fairly new I have noticed that many members with very low post counts are the first to raise holy hell at the first hint of trouble or inconvenience. I have not ordered anything yet from out of the U.S. as I am still building up my courage. If I do I will stick to a credit card as the small bitcoin discount for me is not worth the worry.
