I'm new here, so I'm a bit confused as to where to look for what. I wanted to look out for a seagull 1963 rep, but I'm wasn't sure if I would find, considering it's market price is relatively low, especially for a chronograph. Anyways, if such a rep exists, I'd be interested. Thanks.

I got a decent one on eBay a few years ago from a well known seller who used to import them to UK, about £180. I’ve just had a quick look but unfortunately can’t seem to find him. Not sure if there is similar in India? I would look on Aliexpress and find a seller with lots of positive (hopefully photo heavy) reviews. Maybe someone else can chime in with recommendations?

Yeah the display caseback is definitely a big reason I want to buy this. There are offers available for around that price here. Problem is, I'm a student and can't really afford anything much. I figured a rep may cost a bit lesser and I may be able to afford it. However, I looked at a couple sites of TDs but I couldn't find a rep for this.
Don't think there are any reps for this specific model, the starting price and demand are too low. That said do everything you can to get one, they are amazing watches and IMO every watch enthusiast should have one.
I thought so. I'm saving up as much as I can right now, meanwhile I'll still be on the lookout for a rep. Who knows, I might get lucky and find a good one.

Maybe you can find a used one for a good price. I really don't think a rep of this watch is a smart move. Atleast not if you want one with same movement and open caseback. There is a cheaper version of the watch on Aliexpress for $80, but who knows what the quality of this thing is.
There are reps and they are very cheap but they have quartz movements, they can be had for around £20, you won't find one with the seagull movement in it for any less than the £150(ish) anywhere. If you want to save a few £'s keep an eye out for one used they pop up for around £130. They are quality.
They are simply the best value mechanical chrono that money can buy. When I got mine I got the panda. Although I'm tempted to get the original colour one too. And since it's not an expensive piece for me I find myself wearing it.
It's also part of what brought me here to RWI, I love wearing my watches but I can't wear my expensive pieces in public without worrying about damaging them. When I got the panda I wore it. So now I buy reps for everyday use as the price is manageable if it gets damaged.

This is definitely one where I would just buy the genuine. It's price point is so low any replica would either be crap and miss the highlights of the piece, or cost almost as much as the genuine (as said there is not much demand for it so doubtful you'll find a good replica). With all due respect, a seagull 1963 has such a low price point in gen that looking for a replica doesn't make any sense whatsoever. I don´t think, you will find a 1963 here or from the usual TDs. First, a few words about the 1963. It is not at all easy to distinguish between Rep and Gen here. There are some European importers who offer their Seagulls as "Gen" and charge 300+ euros for them. These watches are "probably" officially produced by Seagull in Tianjin. The 1963s that are offered on ebay or Aliexpress (also by Seagull itself) are mostly licensed productions. Are they fakes? I think not. The movement (ST19) is exactly the same and I assume that the other parts also come from the same suppliers or from Seagull itself. These watches are offered on Aliexpress for between 180 and 220 euros. You can go ahead and buy them here. Just make sure that the model on offer has gooseneck regulation. There are also variants on Aliexpress that use cheaper ST-19 clones that don't have this.
